im going to order them together, and if it doesnt count for sales until the item is shipped, then i think its still okay because they alway ship them a little bit earlier, so that people have them on the release date, so it might count for like 6th or 7th day sales of crossroad and then for first day sales of L XP
and i would save 20 dollars if i did that

I'm going to preorder the CD only of both single, like I did with MOON/blossom, cause the videoclip and making of will be put in the next album, so I prefer to listen one more song P

im not sure because for example my Moon/blossom was shipped out on the 12th, so it was marked as shipped so it counted for the first day sales
so if i buy it all together lets say my order ships out on the 27th it will count for the last day of sales of crossroad and the first day sales of L

You can ask CDJapan to split the order into two separate orders, although you have to pay separate shipping.
