Ayu's iconic songs of the '10s
Which Ayu songs post '10s do you think are iconic or captivated the Japanese audience? I think Last minute is the most iconic song post-'10s, I've seen plenty of Japanese fans covering this song and in the Youtube videos (live) there are a lot of japanese comments. At least I think they're positive comments lol
Other iconic songs for me are Love song, progress and Song 4 u (the last two because of the game) Share yout thoughts. Last edited by Cahz-; 2nd March 2017 at 07:36 PM. |

Progress and Song 4 U because of the Tales game as you said (Tales of xillia 2 'song 4 u' is the opening of the saga with most views on youtube with 4.5 millions views and all comments are positive, even from people that doesn't know Ayu that well) also I feel like WARNING, Last Minute, Hello new me, Step by Step and Mad World should be on this list

This is just based off my initial thought of looking through her '10s songs so probably not at all what the Japanese public consider to be iconic songs from her:
Ballad Virgin Road Missing The Show Must Go On |

I would include MOON, beloved, and Hello New Me as well

To be honest, I don't know much about the Japanese public opinion on Ayu's latest works so I feel this would just be me listing my favourite works from her.
The most well-known song is probably You & Me or one of the theme songs she's done, it makes sense. But for my personal opinion, I think the most iconic thing she's done is Last minute and its PV. Mad World was very strong as well. |

In terms of the general public, there are no songs post 2010 that would be considered iconic. The last were Rule and Days, but even that is kind of a stretch.
Fan wise though, Love Song and You and Me come to mind. Personally: Mad World, Pray, Song for U, Wake up and a few others. |

^ I think progress is well known enough. My non ayufan friends generally heard of the song before and are generally surprised to hear it's from ayu. Maybe, it's because tales of xillia is/was a huge hit in Japan and decent in the US.

I agree with the whole list, but especially with those three songs. What about NOW & 4EVA? I think people enjoy it at her concerts, but I don't know if I'd call it an iconic song...

Never once heard Progress in Japan. Unless you are a fan of Tales of Xillia, the average person likely didn't know the song outside of her Kohaku performance.
