Ayu in Brazil
Ayu was mentioned in a very important brazilian magazine on january 7th!
And it wasnt something little, it was pretty big! She had her own column.... hihihihi I couldnt scan the magazine because i am travelling, but I will do it asap... I took a screencap of VEJA's site, so you can all see it is real: Here is what they said about her: Os "aidorus" da música pop Ayumi Hamasaki: espécie de Britney Spears na fase bem-comportada O Japão tem a segunda maior indústria de música pop do mundo. Translating: The "aidorus" of the Pop Music Ayumi Hamasaki: something like a well-behaved Britney Japan has the 2nd most important music industry of the world, the U.S are the 1st one! Its estimated business volume is estimaded in 20 billion dollars a year. The new 'thing' there are the new independt singers. But the most popular artists are still part ot big companies (avex). The dream of this big companies is to find an "aidoru". The word comes from the english word "idol", that mean idol in english (duh, hihihi this was in portuguese). Nobody can define this concept better than the singer Ayumi Hamasaki (25yo). It is impossible to ti visit Tokyo without noticing her existence. She already sold near 35 million cds, and her musics are always on the top charts. You turn on your TV and you will see her, her face is also on every outdoor. The japanese teenagers copy her style - the famous Ayu style. Some months ago she started to wear big glasses, the ones famous in the 70's, and now it is every girl's dream. Musically, she is like a well-behaved Britney Spears. She composes her own songs that talk about love and freedom. An "aidoru" usually lasts for 2 years. Ayumi has been out there for 4 years. "On the charts she faces a big rival, Utada Hikaru. But there is still no name with the same importance on the fans behavior", says the critic Atsushi Shikano. credits: http://www.ayumitk.com

ahahh that's cool! A behaved Britney, that's funny although I was not too pleased by the comparison. I mean Ayu is much more than a behaved "Britney", she has a brain too Plus ayu is authentic, it's not as if she can really be compared to Britney LOL But it would be mean from my part to demand the author of the text to know all that, since he probably didn't even know who Ayu was exactly before doing the article. I'm glad he didn't just say "Ayu is a japanese Britney" Phew! :]
Muitíssimo obrigado pelo artigo ayubra
