Where to buy Ayu Stuff in L.A. and San Francisco

Hi! I knew there was an index about where to buy ayu stuff around the world but I couldn't find it and the forum search is not working for me, so, I created this thread.

I'm planning to go to Los Angeles and San Francisco in August and I would like to know if there are some stores I can visit where I can get some AYU singles or albums or stuff in general that are original AVEX TRAX products.

Or if you can refer me to that old thread that would be just perfect, and maybe I'll be able to find some addresses there.

Anything would help much!
Thanks in advance!

In L.A. there are three stores from japanese chain BOOK-OFF... It's like j-pop paradise, lots of (used but in perfect condition) albums and singles to choose from. The problem is that non of them are in central Los Angeles: one in Redondo Beach and other in Costa Mesa, but worth the distance... Then, if you want first-hand, there's a store in Downtown, I don't remember which, but imagine a US 75 range per CD @_@

In San Francisco, i've heard there are multiple stores selling Ayu stuff around japantown, but again, everything really expensive

Thank you very much! I will consider everything you've told me, maybe you can refer me to those BOOK-OFF stores, it would be nice to get some (if they're in good condition), anyways I'm talking with lots of time ahead...

I'll keep receiving suggestions but maybe I'll go back to yours!

Thank you so much!

You can find a lot of Ayu merchandise in Little Tokyo and Koreatown in LA. They have a huge CD store in Koreatown that had Ayu's full discography when I went. I was upset though because I didn't have the money to throw down on it all.

You're welcome!

Por cierto, esto suena a promoción jaja, pero si vas a BOOK-OFF no necesitas mucho dinero, los albums van de 5 a 20 dolares, y singles de 1 a 10

Yes, there's this mini Japanese mall in SF called Kintetsu Mall that has a lot of Ayu items. Usually when you walk in it'll have ayu's most recent release right in front to welcome people .

It's located:

Neighborhoods: Pacific Heights, Japantown
1737 Post St
(between Buchanan St & Webster St)
San Francisco, CA 94115

You could try the different Book Off locations in SoCal such as the ones in Costa Mesa and Gardena. They have super cheap Ayu albums and a ton of other artists too. Prices are good, singles are like $3 each and albums may range from $10-25 depending on rarity. Everything is generally used but you may find a factory sealed item if you're lucky. They also have DVDs. Book Off has old releases though....nothing really super recent. There's also a Kinokuniya store in Little Tokyo that you can visit...this store does have new and recent releases. However, little or no concert DVDs and prices are ridiculous. Singles are actually not that expensive....$14 for a CD single. Albums are @_____@. I saw Ayu's Guilty with photobook there for $80.

@Ayumi27: Muchas gracias por la informacion!!! Haha! Me asegurare de llevar mucho dinero para comprar todo lo que pueda! Ojala no haya problema al regresar, por aquello de la aduana.

@AyUta: Thanks a lot!!! REALLY! This is really precise and I think I'll be able to find this store real quick!

@DEEP RIVER: Thank you too! I will try and visit most stores you guys are recomending and buy a bit from each (if I have the money) Haha!

Please keep the information coming!

De nada... Y en aduana no puede haber problemas... Yo tengo que ir a Nueva York cada dos meses por trabajo y siempre me traigo como 10 CDs y cientos de dolares en otras cosas y jamás tuve problemas

Kinokuniya in san francisco japantown mall has a bunch of recent ayu stuff and some of her older stuff. its really expensive, so its probably better to go to LA's book-off
