Question Problems with CDL02-03 DVD

Sooo...I have the 4-disc Live Box, including the CDL 02-03 DVD. It works fine in my region-free DVD player, but every time I try to put it into a computer's drive (PC and Mac, tried about 4 different machines by now) it doesn't recognize it, and makes odd clicking sounds. @__@ Any ideas what this is caused by? Does anyone else own the DVD and have similar problems?

Ha ha! I have the same situation with other dvds. for example FFVII-AC movie. DVD player reads it without any problems but PC just makes weird sound and can't find the cd.

Have you played other Japanese DVDs in those computers before?

You're using a region-free player, so I guess you have the japanese version of the box, pc drives have regions, too, you can change the region of youre drive someway, but you cant do it often and it won't read american dvds if you change it

1.) I can play other region 2 DVDs in the same drives without any problems at all.

2.) I know computer drives have regions too; I change the region coding of the drive before putting the DVD in, but every single time I have the same problem.

Well, that's something different...maybe the DVD has some weird copy protection? Or was the DVD packed in a paper envelope? Or you just have bad luck

Nope, the DVD wasn't packed in a paper envelope.

As far as copy protection goes, you would think they would have used the same copy protection on all four of the DVDs, since it was a box set...but I can play all of those without any problems, and every DVD that has been released since that one.

It's so mind boggling.

Oh, I thought one of them was some special pre-order thing not packed in the same box...that could be the reason for another protection, but was it the 02-03?

^Yup 02 -3 CDL was NOT in the original box, but if you ordered the comple set you could preorder it or something or other, otherwise it was not avilable for order or sale anywhere else. let me check my copy.

Mine works fine (though it is a bit slow starting up). I used VLC Media Player (which can play any region code DVD no matter your DVD rom DVD code). Try and see if that works.

VLC won't open it, and with the drive that I have in my Mac it doesn't ignore region coding. The only way to get around regions with one of these LG models is to flash it, and there's no firmware available.

Good to know that someone's copy works, though...which means mine must have just been a lemon. *cries*
