Probably like 200-300k as usual?

34 dates with an average of maybe 10,000 or so [maybe more?] per venue... so 300k+ at the very least?

Yeah, she's been consistently doing 30+ dates every tour, but the venue capacity varies a lot from concert to concert or even from venue to venue since she doesn't necessarily always do the same stops every time.

Around 10k average is right I'd say, though then again at both Shizuoka Ecopa Arena and Marine Messe Fukuoka, they weren't operating at capacity

They had large sections to either side of the stage and in the last few rows where they had covered the seats with black cloths, and both Saturday shows I went to weren't sold out.

Not sold out, isn't that odd for an Ayu concert?

The concerts as far as I know usually end up close to sold out most of the time. She has a lot of shows nowadays so they're not as likely to sell out as say, when she had like 20-25 shows a season. Back in AT07, she only had a little more than a dozen concerts, I think?

The ones that definitely tend to sell out completely are the first few shows and the finale though.

I think if she is 90+ sold out for so many shows, that still a good amount of people.

^^ this year was the exception, I suppose. Who knows how the last shows will turn out, but the first two shows at Saitama this year were not sold out. There were plenty of signs around the arena (and announcements on Ayu's website) saying tickets were still available. I mean it's a huge arena, and probably one of the bigger ones Ayu performs at, so it's not like she wasn't sold out in a 5000-seat arena.

Well, I personally didn't see empty seats in Marine Messe, which means there were few (because when I look at the stand and arena seats as at single picture - they're full of people and the hall is completely packed). Actually I was so surprised that she performs in Fukuoka for the 3rd and 4th time this year and these concerts are still sold out! Let's don't forget that people may not buy worst seats at (for example) Yahoo auctions, but the one who sells it on Yahoo has already paid for the tickets he sells, right? So these seats may be empty but that don't necessarily mean that they're weren't sold in the first place. That's my theory :-)

Isn't she holding some tickets to sell on the concert date lately? I remember reading about this... Not that she would sell out without doing it (her tours have a lot of dates), but if the only way some people can buy tickets is going to the arena on the concert date and checking if there still are tickets left, it's just natural some aren't sold.

Still... if she sells 90% of her sits, she is still doing pretty well

I wouldn't think she would have many tour dates to begin with if not for high demand.
Her arena tours are the longest in the country and she wouldn't do many dates just to lose or add money obviously.

She could have sell out concerts if she went back to her past 2008 numbers, +- 16 dates per tour. Still, money wise, 16 sold out dates < 30+ almost sold out dates.

One of my favourites parts of this concert is the beginning of "Happening Here" when Ayu and others say "Youkoso HOTEL Love songs he!" (Welcome to HOTEL Love songs!) :-))) Just Love it!

Usually it does but only a small amount of sales. Like... 30% or 3,000 copies? Whichever comes first.

^ Oh, so they stop at 3000? is that per venue or for the entire concert tour?

I knew it was 30%, but didn't know there was a cut off.

EDIT:
Which is why I also say I don't really trust the numbers by oricon (they dont count everything) and I would pick a number between what avex says and what oricon says...

I think it depends on which cd shop is selling the CDs there? Like Saitama, it was Yamano Music and there was a good range of Ayu CDs and DVDs.

I have a question.

I am planning to go to the concert in Osaka, however I have not gotten tickets yet, mainly because I wasa bit unsure how, since I do not have a JP account to pay with via Yahoo Auctions.

Then I found out about these awesome little loppi/e-plus machines.

My question is, what sort of ticket will I get from these machines? I don't mind not having front-row seats, but I'd also like not to be on the outer edge of the venue.
