i could see why there would be Koda in there, considering the image she's portraying on stage and in her videos, that might totally not fit the view japanese has on women? But um Ayu? I mean it's kind of weird that random people would have this kind of feeling towards her. There are girls in the industry way worse than she in terms of performing.

Akiko Wada - isn't that the same woman that has that show which once in a while has Ayu's name poping up because she doesn't agree with something Ayu does?

Hisamoto Masaki - a comedian, seems like "Hisamoto is a kind of spokeswoman for the cruder side of the female personality that most Japanese women dare not show in public."

She fits the image of a perfect japanese woman FAR less than Koda Kumi.

From what I'm seeing described about the other women on the list, they are basically disliked because they are not the ideal Japanese woman. Ayu is probably seen as too headstrong, Kumi's image is too womanly. Ayu and Kuu are practically feminists

i guess the main reason is those men happen to read lyrics like my name's WOMEN, Lady Dynamite etc. and they happen to be 'womanizers'. So, of course they would hate ayu for being a feminist. Only a guess~

Is this that list they update every year? If it is, Kuu went up on the list again D: But I don't think it's the same list...
And it's sad to see Ayu there D:

Yeah, since 1999 or so.

Fame attracts hatred :/ but I think all the drama Ayu has done with Maro & other things are the reasons why !
Yep, another excuse to hate her or people don't know the real story.
It's not even the size of the sample that makes it BS; it's the fact that the sample is comprised only of men of a certain age lol. Obviously not a very good reflection of the general Japanese public.[/QU

What's the matter? Sorry men- but don't think you below the line. Nobody really wants a dumb *****. It's the truth, just saying.

The point, this poll is crap.

Picking the dumb ones that are there. The age we live in depends on complete no-talented puppets.

Being intelligent is a crime.

Yep. And for that 2008 "controversy" but being your true sexual self is good. I just don't place her as much of a inspiration much. She has great harmony and a good heart.
^ if you noticed they are all hard working =QUOTE] THIS IS MAINLY THE PROBLEM LOL

They hate all of those women because they're hardworking women that don't fit in the japanese ideal of a woman.
Plus, Ayu and Kuu have feminist lyrics, which "offends" japanese men.
Plus, the survey was made by men. I believe if both men and women participated in the survey, the results would be very different.

if you are a person of public, meaning, you expose yourself to the society, it is absolutely normal to draw positive but also negative vibes to yourself. thats one logic consequence of being openly in public
