A question about Ayu's eyes...

Comparing the differences in the sizes of her eyes from recent pictures to yester years, it looked like they have increased in sized. I was wondering if her eyes are natural or have she gotten that surgery thing where they suck the fat out of the eyelids or whatever in order to "open" up the eyes. Even my friend's first impression of her was "she looks white" (as in American eye size).

hm .. maybe your friend only thought she looked white because of the dyed hair, dyed eyebrow and make-up etc

but yea .. a lot of debate has been going on over the surgery issue .. but i'm afraid there's no definite answer to that [that we know of, yet] ..

but there ARE photos of ayu when she was really young and she still had huge eyes .. so you can't say theres no chance of them being natural

Ok, lesson one.

On most sites where people accuse her of surgery, it's called a bad picture where it's squinting.

I think of the recent ones the 'H' cover and the 04 Calender pic was the closest to this. But she looks much nicer with darker hair and minimal make-up -__-"

Pretty good site about the subject.

I could argue the subject but I'm tired right now. This subject has been paddled abck and forth between sides and it's pretty much all up to you to make your own decision on the matter. Obviously no one's going to know for sure unless someone who is undoubtedly in the know how of such a thing says so, it all depends on where your convictions are strongest. IE: I'm pretty sure she had some cosmestic surgery, a good number of the people on this board do not share this belief *shrug*

As far as "American Eye Size" I think Hok Wai Blue meant the more open, rounder eyes commonly associated to those of European descent as opposed to the Asian epicanthal fold.

I don't think Ayu has had any surgery on her eyes. I think if she's had any surgery anywhere it has been on her nose. =\

But...I remember reading last year here at AHS somewhere that Ayu was getting more surgery around her eyes, doing exactly what someone mentioned as the sucking fat out of the areas around the eyes.

Ofcourse they're just rumors, most stars won't admit to plastic surgery, even when its obvious.

I think that if you look at the cover of A Song for XX you will totally agree that Ayu's eyes were very big and wide back then too.

i don't think she had the surgery but i know what you mean. when i brought the july 03 issue of cd data to school, some kid took it from me and looked at it saying that she wasnt japanese because her eyes were too big. whatever...

its the make up and the hair style ^_^

Well, here are my 2 cents.

First of all, look at the "A Song for ××" cover and especially the ayu-mi-x Acoustic Orchestra side. Notice that one of her lateral eye is slightly larger than the other. (Lateral is Ayu's right). I don't think she would have surgery to make one eye bigger than the other (and if there was a mistake, she would have gotten it fixed a long time ago lol). It is very common for a certain body part to be larger than the other. Check your fingers everyone! Although ayu having surgery is not a big deal. There are some other factors:

The use of makeup can make your eye look significantly different. She wore a lot less makeup back then. She probably also improved the way she modeled. I mean, after 100 magazine shoots, I'd hope she would get better XD.

Oh, and btw, you don't notice the difference in eye sizes later, such as in "LOVEppears" cover, but then again she is squinting. In "SEASONS" her eye look close enough in size. Whether it was makeup or surgery, I don't know XD.
