Monocrome colored disc - CAROLS CD single?

I wonder if anyone has ever seen a monochrome colored copy of the disc for the CAROLS CD-ONLY single? My original CD ONLY copy looks like the disc in this picture but I found a second copy today where the disc is monochrome pink (although it is the same image of Ayu's hand). I just bought it here in Japan and it appears to be legitimate - the AVCD stamping on the inner ring of the disc is intact. Any ideas?

I don't get what you mean.

The colored disc with Ayu's hand, part of her dress and the sky (upper CD) is the DVD and the other one is the DVD.

CAROLS also has a CD+DVD version.

No, what I mean is that the picture of the CD shown in the picture looks like the normal CD only single. The normal one shows Ayu's hand, and the colors are purple, dark pink, etc. But this other disc I found shows the same picture except it is all printed in monochromatic light pink. I am referencing two copies of the CD ONLY single that I own. I'm going to try to post pictures later to make this more clear.

The only thing that makes sense is that it is a promotional version, but there are no markings on the disc, case or insert to show it as such...

Perhaps the picture disc was a first press limited edition kind of thing?

I'm looking on Yahoo!Japan auctions and I only see the picture disc available.

Eneabba seems to show the CD only version that you're talking about with the monochromatic color scheme though.

That's it! On the version shown on the website, it says "Mihon shohin" (sample item) in Japanese on the back of the OBI, which mine does not, but that seems to indicate that maybe the monochrome version is a prerelease sample. Thanks for helping me solve the mystery!

I stumbled across it for 100 yen at a used cd shop the other day. I already own a non-sample version of the single, but because I'd never seen it before, I bought it too.. it was just pure chance! (And because I'm obsessed enough to notice details like that... ^_^
