They're like a big mix of some of my favorite bands, like Muse and Coldplay with 30 Seconds To Mars as the cherry on the top of it

i think they had a concert here a while ago.... actually that song is tad bit surprising since i only heard this one lol:

they seem to be quite well known.

Yes, Hurts are great! I am loving Exile too - I actually prefer it to their first album.

As for Jay Chou,he's a totally phenomen: he composes all his music, writes some of his lyrics, can play 15 instruments (according to wiki) and his music variates from rap, R'n'b, hip hop, rock, traditional chinese, pop, electronica, classical, country..etc He is very different from everything I've listened until now and he's the first that really "caught my attention" since I discovered Ayu - I can say he's the male version of Ayu regarding his versatility. Highly recommended!!
I keep meaning to properly check him out. I've had a little listen to some of his songs before but nothing caught my attention. He has some really cool CD covers though, and after reading his Wiki page, I really like that he pays more attention to composing music than to writing lyrics - its usually the other way around! (Slightly OT but I think some singers bang on about writing their own lyrics/connecting to the song/talk about how "personal" the song is too much. I'm more about the music than the lyrics myself.)

Hurts surprised me a while ago positively. I never got into "wonderful life" , but I really started to like their music when I heard these songs:

Happy to see all that Hurts appreciation hahahaha (: I'm starting to get into their first album now... I first listenned Exile and was so into it that couldn't give Happiness a proper chance to be heard :laugh It's not as... intense as Exile, but it's also amazing.

My new obssesion now is Bastille, their sound got me at first listen

Plus, I wish I had Dan Smith's hairstyle lol

I'm starting to think Hurts need their own thread! Yep, definitely prefer Exile to Happiness although I think that's an unpopular opinion. Happiness has some great tracks but I prefer Exile as an album.

^ I prefer Exile as well. It's just perfect.

I downloaded some Hitomi Shimatani albums (posted on AHS by Miku) and I've listened to some of them. I LOVED Poinsettia, such a great Christmas album! :heart Papillon was also nice, a different pop sound from what I usually listen to. I'll have to try the other albums soon too, because these two were really worth it. :)

Gustavopc 21st November 2013 09:15 AM

Trying Passenger right now, a handful of friends told me I should try his album and well let's see.

Recently I've also downloaded things from The Neighbourhood - which I loved at first listen - and Rangleklods - which I haven't heard yet.
