I think if she had cancer, all activities would be postponed until further notice.

With that illness, you must get it as quickly as you can, or else it will get progressively worse..

However, this illness seemed to develop over a period of 7 years..

4ever*ayu 4th January 2008 10:41 PM

^so for asking (i'm not read all of the posts, i'm just get here), but is ayu really have a cancer!?

A hearing aid will do no good, but a CI helps.

However, maybe a CI wouldn't be good for her. Maybe it would interfere with her career, as you have to get surgery, get used to the implant in your head... Like I said, it would be better (for lack of a better word) if she just did what she says she's going to do: Continue and just use her right ear.

WOW... Now that I read all posts in this thread, I just wanted to say that in this world there is such thing called TOUGH LOVE.

Reading UHPlus and some posts, including Luv ~Venus~, I believe that in A way, UHPlus cares about Ayumi. Though sumtimes ur words just so close to trolling and flaming and bashing.

Now I am being myself again

To UHPlus (if he can read this)
Are you jealous becoz AVEX throw all their attention to Ayumi and not Namie? I know exactly a person who just like you, and thanks to that person NOW I AM A FULL-BLOWN KODA KUMI HATER. Don't make me a NAMIE-HATER too. Namie is OLD NEWS now, she barely IN THE NEWS anymore. Namie isn't as popular as she was before Ayumi showed up and beat her down. I don;t know how good her PLAY album sales is, and I don't want to assume that her PLAY sales are bad, but PLAY is nothing special. Just another Namie's BLAND album.
She is BORING, Stiff, expresionless wood-dolls who can't really dance with her too skinny body, nothing sexy about Namie. Not even close to pretty nor beautiful.

Okay I am not gonna continue talking bad about Namie because I know she is a good person. Despite all the bad things I said about Namie, I respect her. Please no offense to other Namie fans, please really forgive me, but I can't really hold myself of doing this becoz UHPlus is really getting on my nerve with all his posts concerning ayumi and how he WORSHIP Namie so much.

I mean... it is okay to say good things about one person, but if she/he is using other person as comparison, while I know that 'that other person' used for comparison is no more or less better than Ayumi, it kinda pissed me off.

Once again, no offense to Namie's fans

as for Ayumi...
I want her to do as she wishes. She knows what best for her, not us. I do wish her to take a break and chill down a bit, but if she decides to keep on singing and creating another GREAT song(s), then she has my full support.

I know what it feels like when something you really...really like was taken from you. You feel helpless, you feel like you wanted to try even more to get what was taken from you. When u were giving up, as I did, I felt like I was not trying enough and then regretting the decision I took that time, to give up, and I believe I would carry on this regret for the rest of my life. I just don't want her to have regret in the future, no matter what her decision is.

No, I was just using it as an example. I think it was a bad example though. I was just meaning that people are acting like they know what's best for her, when none of us really can know what's best in this situation.

nightlightyear 4th January 2008 11:20 PM

Whoa what a big thread!

Anyway... Um... Yeah again I'm just glad she's powerful enough to keep on going!

No. I'm pretty sure avex and her friends will take care of her. As she shows a load of people take care of her and won't let her drop dead :) avex knows that Ayu's one of the most valuable artists around and they will probably put their feet down if they see she's straining herself too much.

Ayu isn't an idiot and I have faith that she'll take care of herself and will be more careful. I also respect her enough to support her whatever choice she made. Even if she would retire I would be behind her 100% because hell it's her choice to make and not ours. It's her life and Ayu has shown everyone how she always wanted to walk on her own rules and be happy. Ayu's dream has been to sing and she's always loved to work hard on her career, despite of anything. I respect and admire her for that.

And why she decided to cancel the CDTV performance. :(

Akutenshi 5th January 2008 12:24 AM

Can everybody cut it out with bashing other artists and other people in general? I don't think either side is making any good "arguments" and I think a lot of people on both sides really need to grow up.

People are overreacting like crazy, and attacking others and saying unnecessary things. It's disgusting. I also find it hypocritical that some of you are putting down others for putting ayu down.

I'm very sad that it's come to this with her, but like others have said, I'm not completely surprised. I can only hope she sustains the hearing that she does have and doesn't strain herself. As for supporting her choice to go on with her career, only time will tell whether that decision is good or not.

so far i only know ayumi being the one who have this deafen problem..i haven't seen any jpop artist with this problem...

namie never used any earplugs in her concert at all... but she's ok?

It really just depends on the individual ears of each person. If a person had ears as a child that easily got ear infections, they are much more likely to develop hearing problems as an adult especially if they are constantly in high decibel situations.

The other factor is the type of music that is played. Artists that primarily use pre-recorded music are not as likely to have their ears affected as those that are part of a live band.

The other factor is time and rest. These ear problems started way back in the 2000 tour. It was then that she should have properly rested, gotten treatment, and learn about how to protect her ear, before going full steam ahead into the Dome tour where permanent damage was done.

Sometimes, I just refuse to grow up. But don't worry... I know that u r referring to me, and I, once again sorry for bashing Namie, I knew from the beginning that What I did might hurt other feelings, but as I said before, I can't seem to hold myself. So again, I am SORRY.

And I deeply want UHPlus to feel hurt that I am bashing his luvly idol, Namie. In a way, I also wish that he would bash me back. All in all, I just want him to learn something. I want him to know that bashing is not a good thing to do. It will hurt others. So if u don't want to be bashed, don't bash

indeed. i guess that all the stress etc even increased these things.

well i dont know namie that well but...im sure even she uses earplugs...its just something "every" musician does, unless he wants to get deaf.
-

im kinda scared at the moment cuz kyo from dir en grey got the same "ayu-like" earproblems that started like 5 years ago (fainting//hospitalization).
-

ayu should really take some time to rest, for her own sake. damn avex she deserves it :D
i hope that she will find a way that comforts her~ even if it wont be in the music-business.

I read this last night and felt very close to tears. Poor Ayu I can't believe it...I just knew there was something wrong with her singing almost every song off-key...it wasn't like her. She needs a long break! Last year was not a good year for her at all ;.;

jonneh 5th January 2008 01:04 AM

CI's sound really interesting (I'm reading the Wikipedia article right now), but of course expensive as ****. Though, I know Ayu or Avex would definitely be able to afford it...you just have to research it more and read about the risks involved as well. Ayu is, as billions of others say all the time, so incredibly strong. :)

v3lun420 5th January 2008 01:10 AM

This is the lyric of Until that day, Now it all make sense, right?

I can't yet end up, I can't stop
I've always got it over in such a way, haven't I?

If I throw it out and turn my back
It's rude to the tears I shed at that time, isn't it?

You see? I don't care at all
Whenever and however I may sell this body by the piece
But I never give over my heart alone to anyone else

You see? There sometimes are the days
When I think until when and for what purpose
I just have to keep on going forward this way
But because you are watching me ...

It's not so simple, I don't care even if I look laughable
It's uninteresting to live only for myself

Hey, that person thinks as if he knew everything about me
Just after we smiled and talked a little together
A big mistake

Hey, the reason of this smile and the meaning of this word can't be understood
Because I don't even want to make them understood
It can't be helped
Indeed, no one knows about real me
More than you

You see? If I run out of this place some day
I'm sure they will wave their arms
With satisfied looks

You see? If I run out of this place some day
I'm sure they will nod quietly
With satisfied looks

I ask you for keeping on watching me
Until that day ...

OMG I love Ayumi so much

SheFliesHigher 5th January 2008 01:23 AM

This is very sad news, and I hope the best for Ayu. I'll support her no matter what decision she makes.

This thread has caused a lot of fighting amongst people....I hope you can all get past your anger, because what's the point of this place if there is no sense of community? The more members there are, the more opinions there are to hear, and the more there is to talk about with fellow fans...that's really important to me, at least.

wow... :P i'm stopped and it's continued..

after a night sleep...and see this in the morning >_<

seriously, i'm not as immature as some of the ayu-fan here...i don't even care what r u saying about namie or whoever, for your info, and to feel hurt when ppl type their feelings with their hands on the keyboard through the net. I can even say i'm one of the stuffs in avex and u can believe that too? This is really stupid...i dont even take it by hard when ppl start saying i can't even handle relationship in real life ?! O_O

if i can get hurt by looking at words on my computer screen, then i must be a 10 years old :no

i can be a bad ass in real life and act friendly in the virtual world and vice versa...

I was never a basher, i'm been in this forum for 4 years and i hardly said anything harsh or bad about ayumi (except for some truth/obvious opinions), my reason to put those negative or provoking comments are to see whether what some of you may react to, and i never expected this much reaction >_< ... now u guys proved something...
