I was disapointed with Love songs interludes. If I would like to listen to classy sassy music, I prefer Bethoveen. insomnia was ok, but still i prefer rocky/electro interludes with "power".

They fit the atmosphere of the album, imo.

She was probably also thinking of HOTEL Love songs at the time as well. insomnia, Aria, and overture would have had some epic screen videos!

Tom Punks 6th March 2012 10:58 PM

The only interludes I DON'T like are Rock'n'Roll Circus's, so I'm fine with the album having three, especially since her albums usually have three anyways.

Like taskinst, Jump! or Load of the SHUGYO? I love this kind of interludes sooo much, i doubt we'll be getting this on Party Queen though (taskebab is the only one likely to end up being like that in my opinion, yet i think it won't, don't know why)

microphone 6th March 2012 11:02 PM

AHHHHHHH!!!!

Must have studio version of Party queen.....

Well, a cup of tea also has a chance of being upbeat but Serenade in A minor is likely to be like Aria or overture.

Did anyone else notice how the two interludes in the second half have a/A in them?

attractive nausea 6th March 2012 11:12 PM

^ I was thinking of a cup of tea being a rather ~cute~ interlude, like a tea party a little girl has with her stuffed animals or something haha. Well i could be wrong.
(and no i didn't notice it, do you think it could really have a special meaning?)

truehappiness 6th March 2012 11:18 PM

I might be overanalyzing but whatever, haha.

The songs inbetween them have 'mama' and 'papa' in the first lyric so perhaps they are rather personal tracks for Ayu? The lower and upper case As might also represent her 'growing up' as well since A = Ayu imo.

a cup of tea could be cute but the songs that follow seem most likely to be the jazz-infused tracks that were mentioned as being a part of Party Queen so cute may not fit it unless they both end up like Sexy little things. It could go either way, really.

I think insomnia was the one I didn't like. I adore Aria though. I think the atmosphere is superb and it really feels like something straight out of Mushroom Kingdom on Mario. I just get that " magic fairytale kingdom/princess" feeling from it. It's very unique and I love it!

And when I think "cup of tea" I think of something jazzy. Something mellow and very bossa nova. Like Koda Kumi's Koi No Tsubomi (a Cup Of Milk Tea Bossa Nova Version). Check it out here if you haven't heard it: http://musicaddict.com/323633

brener 6th March 2012 11:30 PM

interesting!

Pieces_of_SEVEN 6th March 2012 11:30 PM

Love songs interludes were not bad, R'n'RC intro/interludes were the worst ever, imo.

And I AM SO HYPE for TEN NEW SONGS! (I'm counting Party Queen because we haven't heard the studio version.) OMG this is going to rock so hard.

MissElin_ 6th March 2012 11:34 PM

^Lol we really don't think the same. I feel 100% the opposite way. Love songs boring, R'n'RC fantasticles. xD

Pieces_of_SEVEN 6th March 2012 11:37 PM

^^What about the albums before that? I think from I am... to NEXT LEVEL they were all genius.

NEXT LEVELS are the only ones I really like to listen to, to the point where I consider them songs (plus Aria on Love songs). Kaleidoscope was nice on MY STORY but ReBiRTH is like a better version of it so I never listen to Kaleidoscope anymore. tasking, taskinst, and Are You Wake Up? are nice too though. Oh, and of course everlasting dream!

TeamAyu2004 6th March 2012 11:43 PM

I loved Aria.. Love songs were pretty good.. I cant even remember Rock n Roll's...
But I love Next Levels and I'am... plus missunderstood! ( I love the album, but think i like the interludes better!)

MissElin_ 6th March 2012 11:48 PM

Well I really don't want to start some long discussion out of this. :) Because everyones tastes is so different! But I can give you some short answer just for the sake to answer your question. :)

I really don't like NLs interludes. They are a mess. Well the mess is how they placed them, they really don't fit to the following songs. Like, what the hell did that crazy disco-munication come from when NL (the song) was so happy and tender. And then Pieces of SEVEN that started from a rockish song (LOVE 'n' HATE) to be followed by a ballad (Days). That flow was simply horrible since PoS starts of balladish and ends rockish. They should have done the other way and the flow would fit nicely. I don't listen to NL as a whole album sicne it drives me crazy. I cut out the interludes and just make my own order cuz that album is mad. xD But I feel like I'm one of very few who feels this way since alot of you people love the NLs flow. And that's great for you! It's only personal taste, it simply doesn't tickle my good feelings.

Albums who's interludes I love, love, love is probably ASfXX, Duty, Secret, GUILTY and R'n'RC (I'm one of those who's totally addicted to Jump!). xD :yes
Edit: I totally blame my scandivanian blood for being so addicted to the rock side Ayu. ;)

Pieces_of_SEVEN 6th March 2012 11:51 PM

While I do love most her interludes, sometimes it's hard to tell apart LABYRINTH, neverending dream, reBirth, and kaleidoscope... lol but they are all beautiful in different ways. :)

I see what you are saying but I NEVER listen to NEXT LEVEL in full because I don't like so many of the songs. I always skip around so the flow doesn't matter to me.

Pieces_of_SEVEN 7th March 2012 01:22 AM

^^I kind of agree on that. rollin' and identity aren't that great to me.

I loved identity at first but now it is kinda of annoying all that shouting.

Pieces_of_SEVEN 7th March 2012 02:18 AM

^^Other than those two, I think NEXT LEVEL is a strong album. LOVE 'n' HATE blew me away.

TeamAyu2004 7th March 2012 02:19 AM

Bridge to the Sky makes that album for me... lol

yamadashun 7th March 2012 03:52 AM

maybe i am the only few who don't like most interludes from NL but love all the interludes in RnRC and LS. Interludes from RnRC are theatrical and dramatic which gave me a lot of dark images. while interludes from LS are so classy that i feel like i was in a victoria castle or watching a Ferrero Rocher TV-Cm (Aria) lol.

i would guess taskebab has something to do with middleeast. a cup of tea is cute and dreamy maybe. Serenade in A minor is LS-like.

Pieces_of_SEVEN 7th March 2012 03:56 AM

I think my favorites are taskinillusion, labyrinth, the judgement day, tasking, and pieces of SEVEN.

I always have high hopes for the interludes, so I hope this album doesn't disappoint like the last two did.

Me too, it blew me straight into the hills where I hoped to escape the dreadful sound of that song and spare myself from hearing it ever again.

Lol, ok it's not THAT bad (but I would say that is a more accurate interpretation of my reaction to Sexy little things) but it definitely is not my style. It has that attitude like "I'm badass" but it really is a subpar song with a weak chorus. Sorry just my thoughts on the song, explaining why it's not my "cup of tea"

TeamAyu2004 7th March 2012 04:59 AM

^ hm. Well. lol.
I don't know how i feel about Next Level.. I really do have a love and hate thing going on..
I remember when it first came out and I hated it... but after watching the live.. i don't know I just.. sat down and was floored by everything that i had missed the firs run through.. lol
Now it is my cup of tea.

Takakayu 7th March 2012 05:07 AM

Sexy little thing is the least jazz song I can think of.

ayumisrael 7th March 2012 05:17 AM

And it's the most swing jazz a swing song could be.

yay for LOVE 'n' HATE love. one of my faves from that album, i remember being more impressed with that song than Sparkle & Rule combined.

too bad 3 interludes but I never care about interludes!
who needs them if they are not songs?

ayumisrael 7th March 2012 01:09 PM

They are good transitionings and mood setters, you don't have to like them but ayu had them in all of her albums since A Song for xx (excluding the minis) lol.

LnH is amazing. Especially live. I seriously don't get the hate lol.

Mirrorcle Monster 7th March 2012 01:23 PM

Sexy Little Things is NOT jazz WTF??

pepper 7th March 2012 01:40 PM

^ rollin' and identity are only 2 album tracks that I like from NL XDDDDDDDD + Curtain call.

relmy 7th March 2012 01:55 PM

I enjoyed the NEXT LEVEL songs live, I really enjoyed the 2009 tour. Not a huge fan of the album at all though.

TeamAyu2004 7th March 2012 02:45 PM

^ the tour was amazing!

Sexy Little Things has jazz elements.. you cant deny that.
its a horrible song and one of the few ayumi songs that I skip over... lol

LeeLeeNeko 7th March 2012 09:06 PM

Omg lol. :rolleyes I love "LOVE 'n' HATE" because its lyrics described exactly what was happening in my life back when "NEXT LEVEL" was released. Not like anyone cares but yeah. :laugh And the song itself isn't bad at all, it's really heavy and totally fits the rest of the album (which I still love to death).

And "Sexy little things" is a great song, at first I didn't like it but now I think it was a really good idea to change her usual style drastically and make something fresh and surprising. Who cares if it's jazz or not.

toniayu 8th March 2012 03:13 PM

I think this album will contain really high quality songs. As said in her official website, this album is going to have World-Quality music!!
(maybe she's going to release it worldwide xD)

AyUmIXx 8th March 2012 03:19 PM

^ hope it's gonna be epic one...
considering that it's an album without any singles.
hope we gonna really a very great surprise.

Pieces_of_SEVEN 9th March 2012 01:48 AM

^^I doubt it'll be released worldwide...lol and I think they're just trying to hype up the tracks with that description
