Poor Ayu ; ;

I wonder what caused the deafness...only casual reason I can think of is acoustic trauma. I wonder why she has never used any cochlear implants btw...

so far i only know ayumi being the one who have this deafen problem..i haven't seen any jpop artist with this problem...

namie never used any earplugs in her concert at all... but she's ok?

well, if its beyond repair, then why keep pushing performance that are below average? she could still remain as the legend making lyrics for other artist ..

still there are blind people who played the piano, or deft people who made music.

but i dunnot.. people are VERY sensitive about ayu ( always )

ayumisrael 4th January 2008 06:17 AM

She had only problems with the left ear and that ear is the one she can't hear from anymore...
She hears monophonically now... that's so sad... so sorry for her.

GUILTY is an awesome album. I'm happy she wants to keep singing and not giving up, and her lives are still enjoyable.

truehappiness 4th January 2008 06:18 AM

So. Now I am crying about this. D:

Reading that message and listening to RAINBOW... D:

Yeah, but there are people that like this album, so she does it for us (and it sold itself a good amount of copies already so...[and it doesn't have to sell millions to be a good album]).

I don't think this is the time to be sarcastic..

ImpactBreaker 4th January 2008 06:21 AM

I just hope she doesn't suffer from tinnitus. I think one of the scariest things of going deaf is pereceiving tinittus the whole time. It could have serious effects on her singing.

Wasn't that what she had during 2001, and still performed even though she had it?

UHPlus 4th January 2008 06:24 AM

like i said before...she should from now on be more low profile...

less tv live, less concerts...recording songs for albums will not worsen her condition...

be more like hikki, she attend tv lives once in a blue moon, she held concerts less then the fingers of one of my hands...but she's still selling like hotcake and famous?

Yeah, but I'm not sure if she still suffers from it. It can be disbling, I truly wish she doesn't suffer from it :no

I mean, I kind of feel like I'd rather her just be more concerned with her health (and keep on being able to at least partly hear!) than create more music that will eventually deafen her. :no Ayu as a person is more important to me than Ayu's music.

I agree with you. :cry
This is making me want to cry. ='[

jonneh 4th January 2008 06:34 AM

I'm pretty sure Ayu's hearing would be about 97% completely gone by now if she had to listen to all of this in every thread.;)

ImpactBreaker 4th January 2008 06:35 AM

Geez guys, take it easy. Leave the bashing for some other thread please.

I'm shocked by the news, but I somewhat knew it was coming. ayu had had ear problems years ago, and later they resurfaced worse. It was most likely something progressive/chronic. I had a feeling it would come a day in which she would announce her going deaf. Unfortutanate, but I guess I was sort of prepared for these horrid news.

Huaka 4th January 2008 06:35 AM

Ayu doesn't want to stop because she's doing this for her fans, she loves them, and didn't she say that if she wasn't able to make music she would be nothing?

No_Doubt 4th January 2008 06:36 AM

As much as I admire her perseverance and very brave attitude, personally as a fan I can’t support her mutilating herself for the sake of continuing. Even if her stage show is integral to maintaining a strong connection with her fans, ultimately I don’t think it’s a particularly wise or thoughtful decision. I commend her persistence, but at the same time I do not think it is in her best interest, or her fans. It’s still possible to communicate with your fans as simply a studio artist, and I’d rather have her release albums but sacrifice her live performances than prematurely end her career altogether if she were to become fully deaf.
