This is completely wrong. In the video Ayu was speaking to some staff/friends (i.e. people who she personally knows) who were sitting in the first row. There was no disabled person there. There was no wheelchair. All of that was made up by some people on a Japanese message board.

IMDB is not 100% correct and the .hack info is a good example.

well, based from the pictures i've seen from anywhere, like when she was only a cute little girl,her --what do you call it, eye pocket? eye bag? well i hope u know what i mean-- were really distinct.
no offense though, i'm also a devoted fan of her.
however, nobody's perfect.
even our dearest ayu is only a human.and i love her for being like that.

jees I must be having a bad ayu-day or something today :P Weren't there japanese fans who translated what she said in the video? hmm I should watch it again

They can't alter it much. I just got CDL02-03 and poor Ayu is sick and her voice breaks up quite abit :(

Some things like lip-synching, plastic surgery, and smoking should be left as a, "No one really knows" for those who read this thread and take in everything they see without considering the alternative. Obviously we all have our own thoughts on the subjects but not like any of us know for certain outside of our own dissection of live performances/candid photos/official photos. Aside from that, I don't want to see another, "OH EM GEE, AYU'Z HUMAN?!?!?!" thread with circular arguments and general ridiculousity (it's the only non-word I can think of to properly describe what occurs) that occurs in them.

Prismatic Tears: That's a VERY good point. Alot of it should probably be left for fans to judge. I mean, the plastic surgery thing, I'd need the type of software the FBI uses to identify suspects on surveillance cameras to pick up on how the layout of her face has changed.

The SMOKING thing, on the other hand, there IS photographic evidence of (which I have in 2 forms, neither of which I consider questionable), and to be honest, it's likely that she smokes. Almost everyone in Japan smokes, since only recently has it had a bad stigma attached to it... there are nowhere NEAR the non-smoking rules there like there are in the USA. Most of our favorite singers smoke, and I think alot of us just have to deal with it. I personally don't care. As long as it's done in moderation it's no big deal to your voice, I mean Koshi Inaba smokes, and he's been singing for over 15 years. The way the Japanese way of life can stress you out, I'm not surprised if any artist smokes. Exactly. Yeah, Ayu looks like she is a social smoker. I don't know who all follows Morning Musume around here, but Kago Ai was just caught smoking by the same tabloid that photographed Ayu. And because Kago is supposed to be white as snow at all times MM fans are freaking out over it. Nevermind the fact that I'm sure most of those fans smoke themselves. :rolleyes

Other singers of note that smoke in Japan: Gackt and Hyde - both heavy smokers but still have awesome voices.

Preaching to the choir hun ;) I saw those pictures and I have fully believed she smokes for quite some time, I included smoking however because I've seen some pretty volatile reactions from the "Ayu = God" camp when someone expresses the idea. As mentioned Gackt's a smoker but damn whatever he does, he still keeps his voice REALLY strong and clear. I don't care much for harboring willful ignorance(strong word yes but bear with me) just some people seem to be ready to throw up fists when this subject comes up and it's quite insignificant. Wouldn't want a flame fest to occur over such a silly subject.

Prismatic: Oh, no kidding x_X!! I know I put ayu up on a pedistal sometimes but I certainly have no illusions that ayu can do no wrong, unlike some fans. I really don't understand WHY they're so sure of this. Celebrities do more wrong than most people most of the time these days, cuz they're so sure they can get away with it. I'm amazed ayu is as much of an angel as she is when people like Winona Ryder, who can afford designer clothes, are shoplifting. o_O

ryuuchi: I can't say anything for 100% sure, but they seem to be doing fine. They haven't shown up together in the tabloids for quite some time, but ayu still thanks "my honey" in her CD booklets, and considering how long Ayu & Tomoya have known each other, I seriously doubt "my honey" is anyone but him.

meimeilai: Thanks for the clip! I don't think I've ever laughed at ayu so much in my life, that's by far the cutest she's ever been. ^_^ Now that I think about it, I don't think I've ever seen ayu eat any meat products at all! So yeah. Whether she's a vegetarian for political or health reasons, I couldn't tell you... she seems like she'd be one for health reasons though, so she's probably not vegan. But I think this is more of a little-known fact than a myth to be corrected... might start a new thread for those later on. :)
(Edit: As of summer 2000, she ate Sashimi, so at least THEN she was by no means a strict vegetarian. She likes only plain rice though, not flavored, so she doesn't like sushi, just sashimi. :P)

I could tell you exactly, but almost everything I've read regarding the two of them calls them "childhood friends", and several things have said that they've been together since around the time ayu started with avex. I'll have to look for something solid on that though.

but regarding the MY STORY clip, i dont think he was saying "you went to a yakiniku-restaurant but u dont eat meat" it was more like "even though u went2a yakiniku resaturant u didnt eat meat".. so i dont think that proves shes vegetarian :shrug

aaah... "don't" has an implication of "on a regular basis, don't", but the translator probably meant "didn't at that one time".
