AMIT2 is also a great album, but I did not expect to hear electropop here. Those two tracks would fit better on A-mei's previous ablum Faces of Paranoia. But it is still the best work I heard this year! and her vocals are amazing. She sounds better and better every year! I do not know how she does it :)

and same question for Linoa62 :)
How is it selling? What fans in Taiwan think about this album?

We don't have figures, but it's been doing well digitally and physically since its release (top 5)!
I read some reviews on baidu (mostly Chinese fans there), and basically they like the album, and the most mentioned favorite track was A Bloody Love Story (actually it's mine too). Can't remember the other songs mentioned.

Just like Corvina I like AMIT 2 a lot better than AMIT 1. I love this aggressive sound, the lyrics, it's exactly what I've been looking for *_* And I love all the songs, while in AMIT 2-3 songs bore me quite a bit.

I actually expected Amit 1 to be "harder" in sound before I listened to it. So Amit 2 is more or less what I expected Amit 1to be. I'm really into that mix of sounds - and Rock and Electro are my favourite genres.
Amit 2 is my album of the year so far.

Btw. should we make a seperate thread for A-Mei?
I guess she has enough fans here and we would peak interest for her from others more easily.

I think she deserves her own thread indeed :yes

Corvina 19th June 2015 11:26 AM

The only thing holding me back making a seperate thread for A-Mei is that I do think I don't know enough of her and don't have much sources either.
But I guess I just go ahead and do it.^^

Her London concert has been canceled, the announcement has been made at the end of February.

Unfortunately, you won't find an English fansite with such info...

Basically you only put Cantopop artists on your list... 90% of them are not fitted to be in "the 10 biggest C-Pop artists of all time" list imo. Where are Faye Wong or aMEI for instance? Teresa Teng?
Unless you were going for a subjective list? If so, don't mind my little "rant" lol
EDIT: just realized it was a very old post... Oops.

orbitalaspect 16th April 2016 08:49 AM

Having seen aMEI's live performances online, I would KILL to be at one of her shows. She seems like such a damn cool person.

And can I just f'n say how awesome it is that she isn't pencil thin?! The first thing I noticed about her was how amazing she looks compared to thinner performers like Jolin and Elva!! Not just her face but the way she fills out her clothing or even walks across a stage. She's got a rhythm and finesse that thinner people can't emulate.

Oh, cancelled, why did that happen? :shakehead
Thanks for the dates!
So the only other dates outside of Asia are Australia and New Zealand.
Ah, it's a pity. Just like orbitalaspect I'd love to see her.
Would have loved to go to the London concert e.g., though I did notice this too late anyway.

If you don't mind, please create a thread! I wanna follow her better (her tours and her new music), but when I tried to find recent proper info for making a thread, I was pretty lost and so I left it be. I mean I couldn't even find the tour dates. xD

I had a hard time finding info about the cancellation, but they gave a dubious reason: problems with concert equipment transit or something.
Maybe that's what happened, but most of the time that's the kind of reason they give when they don't want to say that tickets don't sell lol
The concert has been canceled near February 25th.

Ok, then ;) I'll create a thread today :love

yeah, even if she is often criticized in Asia for being "fat", I also like her body type. She has some glamour in it! I would compare her body type to Beyonce, but like "asian variant of Beyonceīs body", if it makes any sense :D

wow! Thanks for the info. Even if I listen only C-pop (well, mostly C-pop), I had no idea so many albums are gonna come out this year! Especially by those artists.

Well, I assumed that a new album of Hebe is going to be released this year, because her "hiatus" was long enough by now, but I didnīt expect new albums by Jay Chou, Khalil Fong, Elva, Stefanie, Wilber and especially alan this year. Cannot wait to all of them to be released.
I am only not interested about new album by Kimberley Chen ... like at all :D

btw any other albums you know about? ;-)

XDD

I can't remember if you're listening to Jolin or not, but she will release her new album in 2017.
Li Ronghao released a new album in January, Jess Lee is going to release one in early May. Della Ding released a new album as well...
If you want info about other artists, give me their names, I'll search for you.

aMEI's thread created btw ;)

First of all, thank you for creating A-Mei thread (I like her name to be written with "dash" rather than newly stylized aMEI so thatīs why I used it this way) :)

yeah, I noticed albums who have been already released. Della Ding is more upbeat than I expected from her, but still nothing more than mediocre. Actually, I only LOVE her third album which is absolutely great. From other albums I like only a few song here and there.
Li Ronghao is talented, but somehow he doesnīt catch my attention (yet :)). I give his albums a chance once again in near future, but for now I donīt feel like I want to listen his music.

sure, I know about Jolin from your post in her thread. :) But I didnīt expect her album to be released this year. She was busy with her tour so she difinitely needs more time to prepare new album. And I still listen PLAY often so no need to rush things. :) I just hope she will be the main producer of her album again!

btw do you know something about Joey Yung album? She released a few digital singles (I think 3 or 4), but I still have no info about her next album/EP.

Following her participation to I Am A Singer 4, she's going to release a Best + New album in China. So basically a best with a couple of unreleased songs.
The old -Mandarin- songs will be re-arranged.
Concerning the new songs, she got songs from Lala Hsu and JJ Lin, and she's working with A-Lin's producer. She will start working on it in August!

Since my chinese is really basic, chinese-speaking sites are usually tough to understand for me.

Hebe's new album is going to be amazing.

Thanks for introducing aMei! I'll be checking her new thread from now on :)

Can somebody recommend me an artist that is like Jolin? I want to know more c/m-pop divas!
