I still don't understand what Enka is...it sounds like regular J-Pop to me. O.o; Unfortunately, some of the boys in K8 aren't really hot. Only Ryo and Yu and the one in the gray hoodie and the one in the purple vest (when he doesn't smile, lol) |
K8 was more enka in the beginning. if you YouTube "Naniwa Iroha Bushi" it's very traditional japanese sounding, but it was still on the pop side. :)
they're doing more crack!cocaine!pop right now, since it's what made them very popular. yeah, they're not hot by JE standards, but they are so loveable! so much member-ai and i think their personalities really stand out! they're like Tackey & Tsubasa, but. with 8 members, LOL! i love Ohkura, Yoko, Ryo, & Maruyama. :heart & Subaru has an amazing voice! |

i kinda miss their old sound, since i thought that was very unique. but i'm not complaining about the pop music though. it always makes me laugh whenever i listen to it. :)

I didn't know that that type of music was still popular in Japan. Is it just an Osaka thing? Like do they listen to a lot of Enka there and that's why Kanajani 8 is so popular? |

i think it's because not a lot of people know about them. K8 has always been the "left out" JE group, imo. either that or they can't handle all the member-ai, ghei, sparkles, & crotch grabbing. LMAO.
& most people associate Ryo w/ NEWS anyway. :( which is sad because Ryo was an Eighter first! |
