Party Queen lyric snippets on JOYSOUND + interlude confirmation
 

I don't know how I stumbled upon these but apparently, a day ago... JOYSOUND (a karaoke system in Japan) posted the first line of each full song from Party Queen on their site. Some of the lyrics look very interesting. I also wonder if you can go into a JOYSOUND karaoke place or even use the Wii version in order to listen to them?

This seems to confirm that the three interludes are taskebab, a cup of tea, and Serenade in A minor.

The songs very much appear to get very dark after taskebab but picks up after a cup of tea.

LOL she says "mama" in "the next LOVE" and "papa" in "Eyes, Smoke, Magic" ? Anyway I need the translations, but everything sounds to be pretty dark between "taskebab" and "a cup of tea" indeed.

And it says "配信予定：2012/03/21" so I think it won't be released before this date.

I think the next LOVE and Eyes, Smoke, Magic will be upbeat. Having the interlude there usually means there's a genre change in Ayu albums.

It goes from upbeat party with "English" lyrics -> emotional tracks -> back to upbeat[?] -> ends with a ballad imo.

If you think about Eyes, Smoke, Magic's title... it makes me think of magicians and their disappearing acts. If she's talking about her dad in the song, maybe it's about how he disappeared from her life? (Corny, I know.)

this seems pretty interesting.. it just makes me want to listen to the album even more!

It still feels weird for Eyes Smoke Magic being upbeat and about her dad - it may be something upbeat but kinda weird/creepy (sth like Like a doll atmospheare or sth)

I can't seem to find any good youtube videos for you but Love Addict is probably her best one. As far a softer jazzy sound, I love Aroma and Be in silence. Another good one is FAKE and other notables are Heaven on Earth, Seven, BLACK & BLUE, LEGEND, Kumo no Ito... Just download her compilation album NO MORE RULES. and you'll find all the good stuff :laugh

I'm not even mad about the 3 versus 2 interludes. 11 WHOLE new songs. I didn't realize how crazy that is until now. Practically unheard of from Ayu.

3 interludes is kinda much, especially when I don't think highly about Ayu's interludes, only few of them really stand out.

What were some of you guys expecting ?
She's had at least 3 interludes in her last five albums, and this one has ZERO singles tracks. Be happy it's not 4 or 5 interludes.

I wasn't expecting any less interludes, I knew this was coming. But I just pointed the fact it's still too much and actually I don't think she should do 20 track for one album. There are many great albums which contain about 10 songs without interludes, like Ayu's MA. And (m)u would have still been perfect even without those boring interludes. Interludes aren't always needed to make the album flow, but whatever. :innocent

It's obvious there was going to be at least 3 interludes, the rumors even stated there would be 4 so I'm pretty happy. What I mean is that people should really stop complaining about the obvious.
And I actually like interludes so yeah. :laugh (except when the title was really interesting like "insomnia")

I don't think I've ever needed an interlude to make an album flow, I never listen to them and it all sounds fine. I think intro tracks are cute though, when they're like Not Yet, Bridge to the Sky or everlasting dream oh, and Mirror, basically if they have vocals.

Ideally, I think 1 intro and 1 interlude is the maximum I can handle, anymore feels like bulking up the tracklist.

When the chaku-uta first came out... the website described it as a swing pop song... so yeah... it's jazzy.

I don't think she's necessarily addressing her own father in that song, maybe her sugar daddy or something? :shrug

3 interludes is fine for me (though less is ideal, but lbr this is ayu we're talking about..interludes will most likely always be a part of her albums unless they're mini albums). i thought 4 was really pushing it though with GUILTY & NEXT LEVEL so i'm always happy when it's less than that.

There's obvious jazz/swing influence in the composition. This isn't an arguable thing, lol.

Hear better. There is more instruments than just one trumpet in that song.

It's not the brass that makes it jazzy, it's the syncopation.

I think the live version of SLT is way more jazzy/swingy than the studio version :yes

Actually I tend to agree that it is a techno kinda of jazz.. that why i refuse to listen to it... I hate that kind of music.

I was secretly hoping that A cup of tea would be a full song. :( But still, Eyes, smoke, magic IS full length, and I'm hoping it's cool and mysterious, somewhat like Marionette.

Everyone and their complaints. I don't mind when the complaints are valid or even when people complain about the songs they don't like (because Lord knows I love to do that myself, lol), but complaining that there are 3 interludes when there have been more on albums including singles (which means much less new material) is ridiculous. People, have you forgotten with this release we are getting 11 BRAND NEW TRACKS!? That includes Party queen and Hbya (as they are new for the album). Even without those tracks (which I already dislike) there are 9 new songs. Count them. 9

One of these interludes probably has vocals, in the likes of "Bridge to the sky" "Not yet" "Mirror" etc. Who knows, maybe it will become a full song in the future? Either way, I don't give a damn. I am still ecstatic over the amount of new tracks we are getting and Hell I was even making room for 4 interludes just to be safe! So for me, this is a RELIEF! Lower your expectations next time, I'm telling you, it WORKS WONDERS!

Except for a couple of them, Ayu interludes are always worth listening imo.

Most of her better interludes are from recent albums anyway. Her older ones were rather forgettable imo.

And I don't think it's so much 'lowering your expectations' with Ayu as much as it is not having such a specific concept/sound/whatever that you want from the album because she usually delivers something completely different from what you actually want/think.

The only album Ayu's done that has had more brand new tracks is MY STORY with 13 new tracks (10 of them were full songs) which is saying something. However, she spent quite some time creating that album so it makes sense that it ended up having so much new material.
