The ~New Artists I'm trying out~ thread

So, my quest in life is to listen to as much music as possible lol kind of.

So I go around, and just try out new stuff I think I might like, be it jpop, jazz, rock, whatever.

So I wonder if anyone else is trying any new artists~ tell us your experiences!

I think this thread could be good inspiration for anyone maybe looking for new stuff or whatever, so post post post.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The two people I recently started listening to are Spangle Call lilli Line and Nils Petter Molvaer.

Spangle Call lilli Line is a Japanese sort of indie rock band, and they are AWESOME. I recommend them to all, especially if you like bands like school food punishment. Although some of their music is a little more toned down than school food punishment.

Nils Petter Molvaer is a Norwegian musician who has more experimental music. All instrumental, sort of acid jazzy, very ambient, and very different. So if you like weird music like that, you can check him out lol

AyUta 30th June 2009 04:29 AM

This is a really good thread :). I would post new artists I'm currently listening to now but unfortunately I don't have enough time. Maybe tomorrow. I will try out the two you recommended emi :yes.

mcluva420 30th June 2009 06:56 AM

i like to try out artists that already have been in the industry :)

emi♡ 30th June 2009 07:57 AM

^lol oh maybe people don't understand lol

These are any artists that you're trying out, not "new" debuting artists, just artists that are new to you.

The artists I tried have been in the industry since...before Ayu for example lol.

The next ones I listen to, will be Yelle and Emilie from the French discussion thread.

Amrai-chan 30th June 2009 10:14 AM

Spangle Call lilli Line and school food punishment are really good. A band that I'm trying out at the moment is MONGOL800.

micster 30th June 2009 10:25 AM

The band I have got into big time now is Aural Vampire. They had an album a while back which was an independent thing I think, and now there signed to Avex and have been releasing stuff on iTunes.

Not the best song but the only video they have from what im seeing.

^cool! do you like them a lot? Which you posting here reminds me, I have to listen to Vienna Teng lol

I always think of you whenever she comes up because you used to have her in your sig. I actually met someone else recently that listens to her. I was all excited lol

Oh yeah! you talked about them on your blog lol I told myself I would get their stuff too. It seemed really interesting. Gonna search for their stuff too.

I like that they're releasing on itunes...if I ever cant find something, I could just get it there.

:thud there's just so much music out there.

Indeeddd I did. The album Vampire Ecstasy is just awesome. But the EP's are great too that are on iTunes. I suppose its good that there doing stuff on iTunes but I'd just love a physical release seeing how the album is seemingly alike to gold dust.

Artists I've just recently started listening to/discovered: :)

~ Adele
She's an English pop singer, and her songs are mostly pop/folksy sounding. Very laid back and emotional... good mix. She won the Grammy for Best Album in 2007/2008, I think? (Recommend: Chasing Pavements, Cold Shoulder, Daydreamer)

~ Lady Gaga
No need to introduce her, huh? lol.

~ Regina Spektor
An American artist with very simple and whimsical songs. She has a great voice, and her lyrics are wacky, to say the least. (Recommend: Blue Lips, Eet)

~ MONKEY MAJIK
Japanese/Canadian band, and by that I mean half the band is Canadian and the other half is Japanese. The lead singer, a Canadian, now lives in Japan. Their music is catchy, and it's a refreshing side of J-Pop I'd say. (Recommend: robots inc., aishiteru)

~ MIKA
A flamboyant English pop artist who makes amazing music. It ranges from campy and energetic, to nice and summery, to downright sad and lonely. He's worth checking out and listening to. (Recommend: Love Today, In Any Other World, Lollipop, Lady Jane)

JackieRos 30th June 2009 06:01 PM

just discovered TVXQ
(just saw a music video and so far i like it so i'll give their albums a try)

KAT-TUN
(love their first album i'm going to try out their recent albums)

The Brian
(hes so cute and phew he has only released one solo album)

cosmeticmusic 30th June 2009 06:35 PM

Saori@destiny!! She's incredible. I mean, her music is so addicting her song Lost is already my most played song on last.fm after two days. O_O

She has no PVs...(I adamantly refuse to believe that piece of crap PV for WOW WAR TECHNO is a real one) so I suggest looking for her mini-album WOW WAR TECHNO to start things off. She has this very mature tone with her electro-pop. The lyrics are very depressing, but much of the music is like a more complex Perfume or Aira Mitsuki. An odd combination, but it works. <3

aloopy 30th June 2009 06:51 PM

i recently discoverd Leela James
have you guys heard of her? she makes soul and r&b music

her voice is soooooo good. but then again you really have to like this kind of music to enjoy her...

same here, I got earwigs of LAST ANGEL(feat. Kuu), Survivor and JUMON - Mirotic - already...though I have parts I hate in every song xD Their new album is quite bad IMO, havent tried out others of them though.

Im also planning to try mihimaru GT(Switch chorus is LOVE!) and Gackt(I really like Lost Angels), but I will have to wait for tomorrow to do so

I just fell in love with Yousei Teikoku a few weeks ago and have new loved songs almost every day, fell in love with Weiß Flügel yesterday. They have such a weird genremix that i just have to like it and their pvs are really, really good for being budget.

Also trying out Mizuki Nana, already have some songs i absolutely love and several tv performances, but i only listened to her current album so far.

and La Roux is AWSOME!!!! theyr a UK group the dabbles in the art of electronic music.... theyr style is VERRY UBER 80's... which is aswome for me cuz i always said that im the boy anachronism.. needing to be born and grow up in the 80's...

Margaret Cho seems like shes got a pretty promising music career started

Fedde Le Grand... is a Dutch D house DJ.. who does alot of "X vs. Fedde Le Grand" mixes (fedde and Alex Gaudino are my absolute fave djs ever)

and thanks to rikku411 i like Regina Spektor

ive also DLed Fukuhara Miho's Rainbow album... and i really like it... its the 1st song and im hooked!!!... her style is rock/pop/soul all rolled into one... she has a stong voice like Ayaka... i really recomend Fukuhara Miho for those who like strong voices... im going to upload it here in a bit

and sumthing i forgot about came up in the french music thread so imma quote my post lol

Quote:

the only two fench singers i know are Zaho (love love love her!!!!)... the one thing ive noticed about zaho... and it stands out to me more in her than others... is when she preforms the songs live... or even in the studio... she looks like shes having a blast

and Celine Dion lol even tho she not french (but of french decent ^^)

as for Zaho heres some PVs

Kif'n'dir

Je te promets (although not one of my fave songs... i love the video)

c'est chelou

Dima

Incomprise (this song is worth posting... sadly this is the only video available on u tube of her singing it in studio..

*if anyone wants her Dima album let me know and ill upload it*

Far Away 30th June 2009 10:00 PM

Anushka Mandanchan is pretty amazing. <3 She's a Hindi artist who sings for movie soundtracks. I was listening to Mila Mila by Tata Young and thinking that ti had a lot of Hindi influences, so I looked it up on Wikipedia. Sure enough, it's a cover of Mila Mila by Anushka. That's how I got into her.. I'm glad I did. :)

rookies 30th June 2009 11:24 PM

I really like Yuka Kagiyama.

She's a new artist on avex, and she just released her debut single - Love Player.

I really like it, and I intend on following her next releases. ^^

My best friend LOVES Regina Spektor! When we're in her car, she always has her playing, and I always love the songs, I've been lazy about getting her music though, It's already on my list! lol I <3 her voice.

I <3 WOW WAR TECHNO. It's my first album from her, and it really is a little more complex than the usual electro in jpop.

Sometimes she sounds like Ayu to me, like when they vocode Ayu's voice in remixes and stuff...they sound soo similar. imo anyway lol I haven't seen the PV yet.

LoL Do you like Depeche Mode? And Margaret Cho? The comedian? Are you the one who had her in your sig? I saw that, and thought it was hilarious. I didn't know she could sing! I have to listen to that.

Sakura_Genki 2nd July 2009 03:43 PM

I love looking for new music. I devote days to it sometimes.

Sowelu
I watched her MATERIAL WORLD PV today and I think it's so awesome. So I'm going to go from there and see what else I can find.

Namie Amuro
I decided to give her another go. I first tried Namie's music a while ago and it wasn't to my tastes, but sometimes tastes change so I looked up her PVs on Youtube and I actually quite like her now. So far I really love CAN'T SLEEP, CAN'T EAT, I'M SICK, WoWa, ALARM, SO CRAZY, Hide & Seek, NEW LOOK, ROCK STEADY, Put 'Em Up, BLACK DIAMOND feat. DOUBLE and Sexy Girl.

sifow
I don't know why I didn't try her music in the first place. I absolutely love her look. I love LOVE & PEACE, RULE, Natsu Hanabi and her version of Moonlight Densetsu.

alan
I've seen a lot about alan around here and I've done quite a few requests in my shops with pictures of her so I thought I'd give her a go. I've only listened and watched Gunjou no Tani so far, her voice is so beautiful, so I'll see what else I can find.

JYONGRI
She was recommended on my Last.fm recommendation part so I decided to give her a try. Her birthday is the same as mine too, August 30th, which is pretty cool. So far I really like Hop,Step,Jump!, Kissing Me, Possession and Getting Funky!

waterballoon 2nd July 2009 04:13 PM

You MUST listen to Hey Monday! "Homecoming" and "How You Love Me Now" are great songs, their debut album is awesome too!

If you need any youtube links or whatever, please say it lol cos I think you might have heard of Hey Monday or something.

Also, you should take a listen to Adam Lambert... all of the songs he sang in AI. MJ's Black or White was amazing with a modern arrangement and Adams' voice. Perfect.

elepop 2nd July 2009 09:15 PM

Hey emiko, I think I'll try Spangle call Lilli line too! I like their sound. :D

Right now, I'm trying apls. It's a Korean group and their style is electronica/pop/hip-hop. Sounds like a mix of Clazziquai Project and Instant Romantic Floor.

Yeah it seems which each listen I like them more. Hehe.

Oh you should and Really? I don't think I've ever talked with someone who's a Vienna fan. lol. No one around here seems to like the same music as me.

Nukaru 3rd July 2009 09:00 AM

Hmm.. the newest artist in my 'Trying out list' is Vienna Tseng.
I just love her and the song 'Recessional' is so beautiful I can't stop listening >__<

PoetGirl 3rd July 2009 10:40 AM

oh, this thread is amazing cuz i discover new artists every day.

lately ive been addicted to Lwam Tecle, she's unsigned so only few people knows about her, she makes PURE RNB, and has an amazing voice. I enjoy her very much.

emi♡ 3rd July 2009 11:12 PM

wow you guys are all awesome :shughug

@sakura_genki: I know! I've been meaning to get into Sifow for like a year, and I just...keep putting it off...

like my french music! ahh sorry french music discussion people lol

@waterballoon: yeah! could you post a youtube link for them? What's your favorite song by them?

@asongforxx: I really <3 SCLL. I like that apls song too, gonna search for their stuff as well. Seems right up my alley.

@Nukaru: Another person into Vienna! Now I really can't put off getting into her lol

And today...I just downloaded an album called Empty Streets by a band called Late Night Alumni. I heard a track by them in a Michelle Phan tutorial vid on youtube, and I loved it.

They're a downtempo band, and I'm only on the second track, but I love love it.

VERY downtempo, loungy, small hints of jazz here and there, especially with the trumpet in the second track which is awesome. I think they will be one of the more recognized bands in my discography. I love love love the vocals too...they're very ethereal. Gives a really lovely and light feeling to the tracks, without taking away any of the weight from the beats.

I really like this band. I think I like them better than Esthero and Bitter:Sweet.

which, Late Night Alumni, Esthero, and Bitter:Sweet are all western artists, sort of similar genres...similar beats and jazz influences, but the last two have more electronica in their music, and more of a trip-hop feel too...

too much genre tag pollution I swear...

yuki_unmei 4th July 2009 12:01 AM

Namie Amuro it's been hard for me to get into her style, but i'm still trying lol

Jasmine I love her music so far and the pv. I hope she does well.

Koda Kumi Some of her stuff i love, some i hate.

waterballoon 4th July 2009 04:07 AM

http://www.heymondaymusic.com/us/videos

Their (only) videos are there... I prefer Homecoming lol. And my fav. song from them is 'Candles'... no video unfortunately, but I do have a youtube link to their song:

rookies 4th July 2009 04:14 AM

I'm currently trying out Hata Motohiro's music. He's a J-pop solo artist.

Never heard of him before, so I just found out about him, but I'm going to give it a try to see if I like his music.

I think I'll just randomly try his videos on youtube, lol.

PoetGirl 6th July 2009 03:21 PM

JASMINE is new artist i fell in love with. im looking forward to her new stuff.
Jeremih is new male rnb artist, production reminds me on the dream, i really love it and his voice is so unique.
Melanie Fiona is so awsome, her voice sounds like Mutya Buena meets Jazmine Sullivan, and songs are fantastic.

dreamland2.0 7th July 2009 03:36 AM

At the moment I discovered
Tommy February/Heavenly 6
Aira Mitsuki
hmmm also KAT-TUN
can't think of anyone else, but I have lots of random songs from shows and videos I've watched too!

Re:★ 12th July 2009 06:22 PM

Little Boots: Her album Hands is so OMGAMAZING. :heart
Girls Can't Catch: I really like Keep Your Head Up
Miliyah Kato: I started listening to Ring and it's great.

emi♡ 28th July 2009 06:51 AM

Reviving this thread to recommend Yamada Yu to all the hip hop/R&B/american music fans.

I really like her, even if she may not be totally original or anything...I think she's kinda cool.

here's a song people on last fm seem to love:

but my personal favorite is strong girl <3 atm, might change once I finish the album...but I doubt it lol

So everyone, go check her out :)

http://www.last.fm/music/%E5%B1%B1%E7%94%B0%E5%84%AA

On another note...this is a list of the new artists I've tried in the last month:

Nana Mizuki
Arlie
Aural Vampire
mouse on the keys
somomi tameoka
twenty 4-7
lecca
傳田真央
Miliyah Kato
DJ Okawari
AZU
Yozoh
Jordan Rudess
Yuka Kagiyama
Mani Mannami
BE THE VOICE
Ayaka Ikio
Based on Kyoto
Thelma Aoyama
Aya Ueto
sugar soul
Satomi Takusugi

the bolded ones are ones I like...or at least the ones I can think of right now lol

oh I HAVE to recommend Yuka Kagiyama to ANYONE who likes rock music~ She's awesome...and the PV is so scary, so be warned lol.

but she's so gorgeous, and I really like the song, which is new for me, because I don't usually like Rock, but I <3 her. Check her out :)

http://www.last.fm/music/%E9%8D%B5%E...94%B1%E4%BD%B3

edit: I just realised we were talking about her on the first page lol I'm slow.

untitledforayu 28th July 2009 07:43 AM

yay! new artists, let's see...lately i've been trying out a lot of J-Pop:

sifow - She grabbed my interest because of the Sailor Moon remix (which is awesome!). Tried the album 'Love Spell' and it's not bad. RULE and Natsu Hanabi are great, but my fave at the moment is 'love regrets,' mainly because it's down-tempo, dark and trance-y which is a great contrast to the hyper, poppy sound that dominates the rest of the album.

Miliyah Kato - Gave her a shot and didn't like her at all. I downloaded 'Tokyo Star.' Too much engrish and most of the tracks were uninspiring RnB. Her voice is nice though :)

Maaya Sakamoto - I can't remember how i stumbled upon Maaya, but anyway, I listened to her mini-album 30minutes night flight. It's a bit boring, but the title track and Universe are very nice tracks. :yes She has a mixture of slow, relaxing piano ballads, and light up-tempo songs.

school food punishment - their 3 EPs are love love love :luv2! Please reccommend any similar bands!

General Music:
Metric - I got into them because lastfm said they were similar to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs (amazing band!). They're a good indie rock/pop band. I love their album 'Fantasies.'

@emiko: I've been neglecting french music lately. Could you reccommend an Alizee album?

Polyrhythm 28th July 2009 07:48 AM

Tried Perfume very very recently and can't say I hate any of their songs. Each one brings something new and interesting.I also tried Kuroki Meisa...uh most of her mini album is pretty boring. Criminal is ok. Bad Girl is just amazing and insanely addictive. I cant stop playing that song. Shock Unmei is pretty lackluster.

This is how I felt about Miliyah also...I like her...but most of her songs I kinda just skipped over :/

As for Alizee...I have Gourmandises and Mes Courants Electriques, both of which...have all the staple alizee songs...so I would recommend those...although I think it might be wise to skip over the english versions in MEC...they kinda...suck...lol

I haven't listened to Psychedelices yet.

Yeah Kuroki Meisa is interesting...but I'm also one of the few who found a lot of her songs boring. I do love Bad Girl though, and like two others from the mini album, but that's it.

Thanks emiko! :D I'll try MCE very soon. Yeah, I find that a lot French artists (as well as japanese ones too) sound drastically worse when they sing in english...

oh, and i didn't mind hellcat. Bad Girl and THIS IS CRAZY were quite good.
Kuroki Meisa's a promising artist. :yes

Hanako Oku
I listening to her yesterday on MTV singing Waratte Waratte and it just brought me to tears
I just find it such a beautiful song, so I'm trying out her other songs~

aloopy 28th July 2009 05:52 PM

emiko, that Yamada Yu song sounds so good :heart i'm hooked already.
just the kind of music i'm into atm. thnx for sharing.
i need to download her music asap.

as for me, i've been listening to KOTOKO alot lately.
her voice isn't outstanding or whatever but her music is really good.
for anyone who likes techno/trance pop, here's a clip of my fav song of hers:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMKyWGVJdC0

edit: wow pommy, that song sounds really nice. the melody is beautifull

Picaflor 7/4 28th July 2009 06:54 PM

bis

uhm jung hwa = not just getting into her, but trying to listen to hear earlier work, I really don't like much of her music but I'm giving some earlier stuff a go.

waterballoon 28th July 2009 07:30 PM

Hata Motohiro. I made a thread just for him... the link's on my sig! Everyone do check it out (and post!)... he's a cute and fantastic singer! :heart

emi♡ 30th July 2009 08:43 AM

So I tried out miray's debut album yesterday...or today, can't remember...I remember liking the first song...but the other ones are not really my style. I love her voice though.

She reminds me a bit of lecca. Did anyone else check out the album? I know a few of us were waiting for it.

I also got an album by a jazz band named "paris match". If you like jazz, maybe you should check them out~ They're a bit "groove" though lol

They're like, a more groovy, jazzy clazziquai project lol

Paris Match Last fm Profile

@pomegranate: that song is really pleasant. I think they were smart with the composition, especially at the end. It's calming me down right now. I'm all wired from stress lol

pommy48 30th July 2009 09:49 AM

@ aloopy and emiko:
Yeah the composition was what drew me in to listening to the song
Made me feel rather sad, but calmed me down a lot~!

Sakura_Genki 30th July 2009 01:04 PM

I've just got into Aira Mitsuki thanks to zellyx!
She's so cute and her music is so happy and catchy.

BARBiE BARBiE is my favourite PV/Song so far!

EDIT.
Another new artist. :3
His name is Joe Inoue and he's so cute.
GO★ is such a fun catchy song and it really makes me feel good so I'm going to check him out too.

AyuRox 31st July 2009 06:37 AM

I don't know if you'd really call it "trying out", because I'm not really trying to involve myself in their music. Its sorta like, if I happen to come across something that I like by them, but I guess I'll post anyways...

(do note that I don't like heavy or dark music)

The few you can actually say that I'm "trying out"
Daishi Dance - They're a piano house group (I don't really know much about them...) And I just remebered that you all know the name from ayu-mi-x 6... whoops! :innocent

(Do note that everything from here down is either Hands Up or electro/house. If you don't know what hands up is: Cascada. Hands Up follows the same pattern (verse (a melo & b melo), chrous, synth line, verse, chorus, synth line. at least for radio edits) But its all the same thing, at its most basic musical features. Percussion all follows the same general pattern. main instruments are synths and the like. And I think you get it... Electro and House are about 10-20 BPM slower and generally heavier and more bass & percussion based.

Manian - He's one of the 2 DJs that produce Cascada

Discotronic - I just like the instrumentation they use. You know that weird synth kinda thing that's used for the intro to Just Dance by Lady Gaga? That's like the main instrument in their music. Or something similar to it

2-4 Grooves - They have a kinda trippy thing going on in most of their music, which I like

89ers - Somewhere between alternative rock and hands up... their style is pretty interesting. For the most part, through the verse it sounds like alternative, and then in the chorus & synth line it switches pover to hands up.

Andrew Spencer - Can't really characterize his style, since almost all of his works are in collaboration with another artist.

Dan Winter - More of a smoother (sorta) hands up style. And a lot of his works almost seem Jumpstyle (look it up)-inspired.

And now its 1:30 AM and I'm getting tired. I probably won't have recollection of half of what I just typed, so I'm probably gonna end up editing this... :tired

So I was going through the similar artists of some electronic artists I listen to and I stumbled upon cokiyu. Very Mellow dreamy music to chill out to.

I like her so far.

murasakinohana 5th August 2009 03:34 AM

i didn't really like her older stuff either. d.i.s.c.o is only the thing i enjoy from her, and some of prestige

i haven't really tried anything new out lately, but i really should.

Yeah, I was a little disappointed at first that I didn't like Two Suns as much as Daniel, but I like Pearl's Dream and Siren Song. (Check out the video for Pearl's Dream btw).

I actually found her first album easier to get into than Two Suns. I wasn't sure about buying it at first, but was pleasantly surprised. (Loads of good tunes - Horse & I, Prescilla, Seal Jubiliee, What's A Girl To Do).

I loving Patrick Wolf's new album The Bachelor esp the title track & Damaris. My favourite song right now is The Messenger.

Golf-Mike
I downloaded their album GET R3ADY last night and it's really good. I really love their singing voices. And they're the first Thai artist that I have ever listened to.

I just find it such a beautiful song, so I'm trying out her other songs~

I'm listening to her song "Yasashii Hana" right now, and it is such a good song, and I think it is a sad song? Not sure, but the song does sound sad. I feel like crying right now. :(

I found out about this song when I found out that Koda Kumi's "Yume no Uta" was sampled from it.

I love it, I want to find out more about Hanako Oku!

Trying Jyongri out and Aoyama Thelma...I really like Jyongri ATM...Possession...that's like the jam! Ayoama has some nice songs but theyre all really slow, and R&Bish IMO...

emi♡ 9th August 2009 05:37 AM

^I LOVE Posession. But sadly, I haven't liked any of her recent works...so many ballads. I'm waiting for her to go back to Posession style songs.

And Thelma...yeah lol

I just started to listen to Yozoh again, who is a Korean artist. I believe elepop referred her to me, or she uploaded an album or something. But anyway, she's great.

She has an interesting blend of indie pop and some bossa nova/lounge stuff, so, I like it.

Though her vocals are a little too "little girlish" I really like the music. Really creative.

GRACE 9th August 2009 06:30 AM

I'm picking up some western artists, I've had Imogen Heap's Speak For Yourself and a Cobra Starship album downloaded for a while and am finally getting around to listening to them. My friend is going to make me try Paramore at some point too, yay conformity <3

emi♡ 9th August 2009 06:42 AM

lol

I actually felt really bad I didn't like Imogen Heap that much, because everyone seems to love her.

I'm just kinda tired of that type of music atm.

But I'm gonna try again to get into Imogen, and perhaps also The Veronicas, which is different from Imogen, but still kinda in that realm of music for me.

I've been really trying to get more into American music, but there's just so much of it, and I have to look for it.

GRACE 9th August 2009 06:53 AM

^The Veronicas are good, their first album is better then their second, the twin thing is really cool, the quality and harmony of their voices is really unmatchable

aloopy 9th August 2009 07:10 AM

AI.

i only knew her from the music she did with Namie, but i gave her solo music a shot, and i loooove it!
i only downloaded 2 albums of her so far and i seriously can't stop listening. i wouldn't be surprised if i end up becoming a fan of her

her music is very mainstream r&b/hip-hop, nothing special actually...lol. but i enjoy it alot and her voice is really good imo.

here are 2 videos of her album VIVA A.I. ..which everyone should download, one of my favorite album of 2009 so far lol.
Spoiler:

I tried a lot of random stuff today, Cobra Starship, Daft Punk and The Audition I liked, I tried a bunch of Electronica groups I found via reading wikipedia articles on types of music but I couldn't find any I really liked

rookies 18th August 2009 01:25 AM

I've been trying out Atari Kousuke's music, and I love his most current song "Sora Ga Sora". He's a Japanese male solo artist, and his music genre is described as traditional, and maybe some pop, I dunno.

The only artist I would say is kinda similar to his music is alan, so if you like songs by alan, you might like Atari's music. :)

Sora Ga Sora PV: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXl8X-UYB0M

I love the PV because it's so epic, and the song is just wonderfully arranged, and the use of traditional musical instruments make this song very good.

I remember I tried some of his songs in the past, but I didn't like them, but this song is just different, and it's my favourite song of his. I think he is very underrated, so I hope someone watches the new pv, and enjoys it. And I don't think he is that well-known, so I hope more people find out about him. :)

waterballoon 18th August 2009 03:46 AM

Hata Motohiro!

Also, Cobra Starship... love their collab with Leighton Meester "Good Girls Go Bad"

The Veronicas rock too... love their first album! :heart

I also recommend Hey Monday if you like Paramore... they have been dubbed the next Paramore lol.

Picaflor 7/4 5th September 2009 05:21 AM

I'm trying out some new people. 2pm, 4minute, and Bennie K. So far I like K, but not so much 2pm. Still kind of mutual on 4minute, I just downloaded their album and trying it out. Their Song Muzik is cool though.

okay...reviving this thread a bit lol

to talk about the shoegaze, indie electro band audio safari!

If you like Spangle Call lilli Line, texas pandaa...or maybe even Yozoh lol I'd check out this band. If you like ambient music, I would as well.

I'm not finding a lot of videos lol

Someone else described them as.... "Audio Safari is some very luscious dream pop, much like School Food Punishment but with an even more electronic edge."

U-GO-BOY 17th October 2009 08:21 PM

I love Late Night Alumni. My favorite songs are Beautiful, Eros, and Sunrise Comes Too Soon. They're really beautiful and relaxing.

I also like Kaskade and Urselle.

emi♡ 19th October 2009 08:35 PM

^yeah I really love how relaxing they are. Their arrangements are really nice as well.

I'm gonna try out Urselle too, now that you mentioned them ^^

aloopy 20th October 2009 12:41 AM

I'm starting to get into Justin Bieber's music. He's a 15 year old boy from Canada, and he has a song "One Time", which I like.

One Time MV: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-qQdw7Xpv4

He just came out with his debut album, "My World, I think a few days ago.

More info on him: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Justin_Bieber

Rainbow141 26th November 2009 12:48 AM

I want to get into Muse. When I was still into Twilight, and had seen the first Twilight movie, I fell in love with their song Supermassive Black Hole, and now they've popped back into my iTunes with their song from the V commercials, "Uprising".

I really should try some of their other stuff now, but I'm not sure where to start looking.... or where to begin. Maybe next time I stop at the library I'll see if they have an album or two. :yes

Surprisingly my public library has a good selection. They actually had Secret and the two A BEST 2 albums. O_O

luna7996 26th November 2009 05:14 AM

I'm currently in the process of lisening to a lot of Lady Gaga. A lot of her songs are catchy but she is 2 weird for me....(i dont mean that in a bad way. Dont kill me Gaga fans I just can look at her vids without thinking ''what the heck is she wearing-doing-etc.'') Her dance moves are hot tought and I really like her as a person . She seems to care for her fans a lot and that is always something that I will admire in the different artist in the industry. Very cool girl.

I also been lisening to a lot of Taylor Swift for the past month now. I really dig her music and her lyrics.

Traiding yesterday. I downloaded the album because to my understanding they dont have any official release yet...(correct me if Im wrong). Some of the songs I can lisen to all day but there are 2 or 3 songs that I really cant stand.

I just heard Owl city song ''Firefly'' and I fell in love with it. I will do some research on them now...

rookies 26th November 2009 11:13 AM

^ Me too, I am currently trying out lady gaga and taylor swift's music. And I like what I hear. ^^

C+R+E+AYUMI 26th November 2009 01:05 PM

today, as advised from many AHS members, I tried to listen to MISIA "ASCENSION" and I have to say i remained really amazed.
I like her mix of ballds, R'n'B and Jazz.
I believ i'm gonna listen more!

PinkShinigami 26th November 2009 05:48 PM

I'm so much in love with Hirano Aya's God Knows... and Sore ga, ai deshou.. it's so amazing!

Can somebody suggest any of her songs? I've heard a few more, but I didn't think they were as good..

And does anybody know, if an non-Konata version of Sore ga, ai deshou exists? XD I like her version more than the original.. but Konata kinda ruins it.. XD

"Good songs" and Aya Hirano should never go in the same sentence without God knows.... imo, you're a lot better taking what you got, and not looking for more

emi♡ 9th December 2009 10:35 PM

I discovered Mizca! I guess she's Masami Mistouka, and I havent heard her stuff from that name.

But for some reason I really like the electro stuff she's come out with...

So if you like Aira Mistuki, Perfume, MEG, Ami Suzuki....etc. You might like her!

I like this song better:

I guess this is like her debut single or something...so these are the only songs I personally have atm.

GRACE 9th December 2009 11:49 PM

^I heard about her, she has some other music by another name but it's pretty bad, I like these two songs though :3

emi♡ 10th December 2009 04:16 PM

^really? then Im not gonna go search it out. lol

Another "new" person, hiromi <3 <3 <3 This is my song right here:

I don't really care for the PV so much...but the song is <3 and her voice owns.

Late Night Alumni (their music is so soothing)
Ke$ha (I love this girl, She's the most awesomeness singer ever)
M.I.A. (I love her lyrics and her music is so upbeat)

Picaflor 7/4 12th January 2010 01:15 AM

I was trying out aural vampire, but idk. I just happen to really love their song freeeze. besides that, I'm not really sure i like any other song by them that much. i've seen this alot in albums. i end up only liking the main song that represents the album, because they usually pick a very good song and have a good video for it.

example a: tik tok - kesha. every other song, skip skip skip skip skip.
same thing happend to me with sorry sorry (suju), rainism (bi), mirotic (with the exception of wrong number and love in the ice), and come 2 me (uhm).
besides the lead song, the rest are kind of crappy. or what i see alot in korean albums. are all ballads! they love to spam albums with them.

not so much an artist, but more a label, but I recently got an Exit Trance album, and I'd really like to get more.
And Blood Stain Child. Sort of. I've heard some of their music and kinda liked it, but I guess I'm just too cheap to actually buy anything.

^yeah! that song is from her debut album. she has...her debut album, i think 2 EPs, and a few singles.

And then she has some songs she did as collaborations with some male solo R&B artists, which aren't too bad either~

I know people uploaded her stuff here, but I don't know if the links are still good~ If you want anything, just ask :)
