Special Screens directors

So, I was curious. Has Ayu ever listed the special screen directors? I have AT07 and AT08 with me, but I can't seem to find the credits anywhere, or more like, I'm not sure which section to look at. There are a few 'Director' titles, but it got me confused. Is it possible that only one director did all the special screens in a tour?

Also, the screens with the same feel, like Taskinst, (d)Lma and L'n'H intros, are they directed by the same person?

For the most part, all of the SPECIAL SCREENS are done by Wataru Takeishi unless otherwise noted or if it's glaringly obvious.

part of Me's special screen was done by Takahide Ishii from what I could see, as was Not yet's.

It really depends on the video, but for the most part, all of them are done by Wataru Takeishi.

Wataru Takeishi also directs many of Ayu's commercials.

(These are usually all supervised by Kiyoshi 'Utsumizm' Utsumi, Ayu's visual director. The nice looking old man in most of Ayu's making ofs. He also made CAROLS, I believe.)

List of SPECIAL SCREENS and my supposed directors (not confirmed at all since there were other directors present I don't remember):
Kaleidoscope, INSPIRE, GAME, CAROLS - Wataru Takeishi
Are You Wake Up?, STEP you, Ladies Night, alterna - Wataru Takeishi
taskinst - Wataru Takeishi
Not yet, part of Me - Takehide Ishii
The Judgement Day, (don't) Leave me alone, HANABI- Wataru Takeishi
Depend on you/STEP you - Takahide Ishii
Marionette - Not Tetsuo Inoue! BLAH. Probably Wataru Takeishi.
Disco-munication, Load of the SHUGYO, HOPE or PAIN(?) - Wataru Takeishi
HOPE or PAIN(?) - Takahide Ishii

Sample list of directors -
PROJECTION VTR DIRECTORS FOR AT05: Wataru Takeishi, Chikara Tanaka
PROJECTION VTR DIRECTORS FOR AT06: Wataru Takeishi, Chikara Tanaka
PROJECTION VTR DIRECTORS FOR AT07: Wataru Takeishi, Takahide Ishii
PROJECTION VTR DIRECTORS FOR AT08: Wataru Takeishi, Takahide Ishii, Sojiro Otsubo, Yasuyuki Hoshi (I'm curious about the 2 that come after... they seem like they might just be assistants.

Most of these are based on my observations of their style of directing and the videos they've created in the past...

With Ayu's harder ones like Load and (don't), I feel as though they are Wataru works since he tends to be very edgy at times.

^ that's very interesting to know, thank you!

Ah I see, but there were no official credits, are there? Still, nice to know Wataru Takeishi is still around, I wish he had directed more videos for RnRC instead of S/S only.

They don't directly credit them, but usually you can tell who did what.

Basically, the ones that are really bright OR feel somewhat awkward-ish are Takahide Ishii works. (Not yet, Depend on you, part of Me, HOPE or PAIN(?, since it feels like his ballad PVs...])

And just about everything else is Wataru Takeishi. The man is a genius imo, and people dislike him for the S/S stuff even though he's made just about every PV before 2003/CMs for her.. -sigh-

All extremely interesting information. On the supposed 'guesses' of who directed the screens I have to agree. They each have some sort of individual style that makes it easy to add them together.

Wataru Takeishi really has always been one of my favourites of all her PV directors; I'm glad he's still so involved.

Oh, this is interesting! I didn't know this; thanks for sharing! :D

Wataru Takeishi was pretty fabulous back in the day. (His editor probably needed some more practice though... used some tired tricks and didn't time things with the music properly most of the time... but Takeishi-san himself was the shiz)

truehappiness 13th April 2010 01:32 AM

He is still fabulous, I'd say.

He just doesn't get to show his fabulousity enough outside of the concert videos. -sigh-
