Nakashima Mika to make her long-awaited comeback!

On April 27th, Nakashima Mika will officially resume her activities as a singer!

Nakashima announced last October that she would be taking a break to correct the deteriorating condition of her ears. A statement from her official website confirms that the singer will end her six-month hiatus and return with a highly anticipated new single.

The single is titled “Dear” and will be available for sale on April 27th. “Dear” will be used as the theme song to the movie “Youkame no Semi,” starring Inoue Mao, and is said to express the feelings of an adult woman who notices the joys of loving even when grieving her own fate. The coupling song is a rearranged version of Nakashima’s song, “A MIRACLE FOR YOU,” dedicated to her patient and loyal fans.

NintendoHTF1242 7th July 2010 03:18 PM

Oooh the cover is so pretty!

tokyoxjapanxfan 7th July 2010 04:56 PM

So i'm downloading the song now, but i have to say, this cover is so old school mika! i love it! she looks BEAUTIFUL. And it's such an interesting, intense color! Really good job.

edit: and the song is brilliant :O
Probably going to buy this ;)

Any first press bonus? haha...

KarenPang 7th July 2010 04:59 PM

I haven't listened to Mika for quite a while now but Ichiban Kirei na Watashi wo is really lovely & so beautiful

even my younger sister who hasn't follow her since Orion , she herself commented that after hearing Ichiban Kirei na Watashi wo , that spurred her to listen back to Mika's songs again xD

Hopefully the announcement of her new album will follow soon as I have a strong feeling it will be out probably around Sept since there're no B-sides included this time round in Ichiban Kirei na Watashi wo

^ seriously, even though Always was nice, and nagare boshi, but candy girl seriously just made me forget what good music Mika can make. haha

This song is probably one of the better songs being released this summer. (IMO)

Haha, yeah, Candy Girl was a big disappointment XD. Apparently the Japanese thought so too, it's her only single of the latest 4 that WASN'T certified Gold for Chaku-Uta Full.

NintendoHTF1242 7th July 2010 06:07 PM

omfg am I the only one that really liked CANDY GIRL? That song is my jam yo.

Blasterion 7th July 2010 08:02 PM

yay a new thread!

LOL I liked Candy Girl too don't worry ;)
musically it was great and really interesting to listen to... especially live :D

but Ichiban Kirei na Watashi wo is just too amazing, I fell in love with it from when I heard the first note, great composer!
like any of Mika's songs, they're all composed so great :D

Mika is one of those artists you just have to see live on stage at least once in your life,
it's truly something special :heart

oh and I'm loving the cover ^^

Nackar_91 7th July 2010 10:11 PM

Really, people like Candy Girl? haha, how surprising.

I was always annoyed by how the song was disjointed, lacked any power and just felt like it never actually started >_>. But then that's me XD

Mika Nakashima to perform two shows at Budokan and new single

Singer Mika Nakashima (27) recently announced her first concerts at the Nippon Budokan. She will perform two shows there on November 5 and 6, which will be labeled as MIKA NAKASHIMA 10th ANNIVERSARY'S SPECIAL LIVE "FANS AND BEST."

November 7 marks the 9th anniversary of her debut single "STARS," which means that she will be entering her 10th year as a singer. It will also be her 10th year as an actress, as she debuted in the drama series "Kizu Darake no Love Song" at around the same time ("STARS" was the drama's theme song).

The news of Nakashima's Nippon Budokan concerts coincides with the promotions for the upcoming drama series "Unubore Deka," which stars Tomoya Nagase (31) and features Nakashima as a main female character. Her next single, "Ichiban Kirei na Watashi wo" (on sale August 25), is being used as the drama's insert song. "Unubore Deka" premieres on July 9.

"一番綺麗な私を" is a really nice song! *_* it has an enka feel to it...but not really? lol. i think it's the way she's singing it, but i haven't been impressed by a Mika song for a while! :)

Nackar_91 8th July 2010 09:06 AM

Finally! Personally I think she's been long overdue XD.

tokyoxjapanxfan 8th July 2010 03:43 PM

can't stop listening to it. O_O.

it's so easy to love this song xD

KarenPang 8th July 2010 04:10 PM

I'm curious to know who're the writing & composing credits for Ichiban Kirei na Watashi wo cos it has been a while since I'm last addicted/charmed by a Mika no.

like seriously

Utena 8th July 2010 06:01 PM

The composer/lyricist is 杉山勝彦 (Sugiyama Katsuhiko I think)
I believe he's a newcomer, which brings this new but also old feeling to the song <3
