MOON PV Thoughts (Full Version)
Now that the full video is out, what did everyone think? Does anyone have any interpretations?
I really like the video. I thought it would turn out similar to don't look back since the video takes the form of things being revealed slowly, but it has a totally different feel. Very dark and atmospheric, perfect for the song. And those goo scenes are pretty damn cool. ----- All I'm getting is that clearly Ayu is upset about something, that the room she is in is elegant but completly trashed. The black goo seems to represent anguish.. or evil.. which engulfs her entire body. The dog flashes seem to just represent a happier time before the events that led to her sadness. Anyone got anymore to add to this? |
I feel the black goo dripping is symbolic of a waning moon, where Ayu's pale white face is slowly being engulfed by darkness. I'm not quite sure what this symbol means, but I hope someone can work that out. XD

I didn't think of that, that's a really cool observation. Like a moon that becomes whole, but in reverse.

yeah...i'm very-very want to know what ayu trying to say from this PV...
what the ink means? i think that there is corelation between the ink that fall to ayu body, with the ink that drop to the paper... maybe it's about the story? agghh...i don't know what i'm talking about...the PV is so mysterious.... and the movement that she did on the ink scene is the same movement that she did on the bench...when the ayu on the bench hold the chest, we can see that the same exact movement did by ayu on ink scene..i wonder what it means as well.. i don't want to watch the making video before i received my copy, so i don't know how ayu can make this PV, i mean that ink scene is kinda scary, how ayu can breath with that liquid all over her face, very very amazing scene... |
Boring.
|
If one of her dogs died recently, the pv is pretty much about it....
|
imo, the black goo is the ink for she used all over her life writing lyrics.. i mean the whole life of being an artist. at that time being an artist gave her a lot of troubles and make her feel down sometimes..
and for the scene with cocoa, i think, it's the only thing that can make her happy when she was alone.. Okay, this is just only my opinion.. thanks.. |
i think the pv is beautifully made with the scene it matches perfectly with the song!!!
it's interesting to read people's interpretation about it :) |
I saw Moments happening all over again.
I freaking loved it, it made me love the song more. one of my favorite ayu pvs |
I don't understand the meaning.
Why her fingers are bandaged? And why the black liquide on her head? I have no idea.. but like watching it. |
^ I think the same thing too..
why she got all her fingers bandaged? I wonder if it's bcoz on the bench scene, she messed up all the room's stuff? that caused her fingers injured?? hmmm~ |
I kind of expected a bit more from the ending, but I really liked it overall. I'd love to hear different interpretations from people because it was kind of difficult for me to understand why the scenes with her dog are there.. I get the feeling it means something more than just looking back on happy times.
|
Its about lost love. Her lost lover filmed the scenes with the dog.
|
by the way, because it's a trilogy singles maybe we will find out more about the meaning on her next PV...
|
PV was boring, the ink thing looked grossssss. She looked really good on the couch scenes though, and I'm sure it's ladden with symbolism. I just didn't care for it

i dont get what the mean in the PV...so far..is good for me...just that blackoctopus ink kinda disgusted me...
|
Hmm. The song isnt that dark to me though...
I love the pv but same as alot of people here.. I can't really understand the meaning of the pv. My first thought was that... The ink... represents her thoughts... The words she wants to express.. the thoughts she wants to express... it's overflowing... Then the mess in the room.. represents the frustrations in her? Fingers bandaged because of creating the mess in her room.. she accidentally cuts herself with glasses... She wants to express... Yet she couldn't do it clearly... Then the scenes with her playing with dogs.. Seemed like someone video-ed her... So maybe in the pv... She lost the "someone" and have many things to tell the "someone" I agree that the ink kind of scared me. LOL |
Wow, it's been a while since i posted on here, lol. But this is a really interesting topic and I feel like giving my two cents...
Anyway, I'm guessing the Black Ink was supposed to represent sadness/depression, etc. etc. After her lover died, all of these emotions slowly covered her up, up until the point where it constricted her and made it almost impossible for her to see, much less even breathe. She tried to take it off too, in the later part of the PV, but failed and instead, makes a mess out of herself. Grief has overcome her too much from her loss. So much, that she can't let go and move on anymore. Even if she tried to, it would still stay and haunt her, and there is nothing she really can do about it. This grief is slowly killing her in the way the oil is covering her up, but making it hard to see reality and to breathe freely. I think the scene with her dogs was in fact her lover filming her. She does look back (lovingly) at the camera a few times.... The scene with her messed up room is pretty much self-explanatory. She's upset/frustrated about this loss. Maybe she tried to destroy everything that reminded her of her lover, thus resulting in injuring herself. This all comes back to the idea that, her emotions are eating her away, and she can't see what is the truth anymore. She's slowly becoming the reason for her own (emotional and mental) death. Overall a very interesting PV :yes. Hehe, I thought the oil was pretty cool........ |
i don't suppose it has anything to do with the gulf of mexico oil spill? it just seems so uncanny in timing that she would release a video in which she is covered in oil, ink, or whatever it is right when this disaster is going on.
i'm sure its probably as people in the thread have described it, which makes a lot of sense. i really like that scene. as i've said before, the weirder the PV the better. unfortunately, i felt like some of the other scenes just went on for too long and the PV as a whole is a little underwhelming. i would say i like it, but don't love it. |
