LS Vs RnRC Purchase Count?

So out of curiosity i checked the Love Songs purchase count and it was around 225 and then i checked the RnRC purchase count from about a week or so before release and it was in the mid to high 300's do you think that this will reflect with the sales of Love Songs in general? or maybe not because more casual listeners will buy love songs?

I have a feeling that it'll either exceed everyone's expectations, or be a flop.
Sales-wise.

I don't think it's saying much. I still have high hopes for the album.

Well there's a few factors here...

1) The types of versions - the USB version is not as new and exciting for us as it was back when NL was released. Sure some of up got more than version anyway but it's not like this is the first Ayu USB and we don't know if another one will ever be made... RnRC had more versions too, if you count the box sets, which I think there were 2 types of, and that the CD+DVD in the box was slightly different to the regular one (gold vs red obi)
2) Handwritten lyrics - no handwritten lyrics so people aren't buying multiple CD Only in case they get the lyrics
3) Economy - The US economy has kinda sunk in the last 6 months. I'm not surprised if less Americans are buying copies right now
4) Speed of releases - NL > RnRC's release dates are longer than RnRC > LS. Some people might only be able to get 1 album a year or just aren't ready to get LS until they get full value from RnRC.
5) People aren't bothered to add their purchase to the count? I don't think I ever added my CD+DVD purchase of GUILTY :P

AHS has lots of members, sure, but it's not representative of ALL of Ayu's international fans! ;) Ayu's probably got 4-5 times the amount of active AHS people who buy her albums. Let the sales speak for themselves :3

well, i think some people aren't too thrilled about love songs theory, and would rather hold out till they hear the full tracks.

because as compare to R'n'R circus album, it's been almost 1 year and 3 months since NL, and the hype was there, and the title 'rock' might help too. i realise that foreign fans prefer rock over ballads.

+1 with genie's answer.
& i still think promos are not so intensive like some of the other artists..?
i feel that the release of love songs is kinda quiet...
+ nowadays groups are more popular than solos

freedreamer 16th December 2010 10:35 AM

I don't really foresee sales that are like RnRC and maybe even lower. But the material to me is highly important because from I read, it sounds like she outdid herself...

And now the number 1 doesn't bother her albums anymore

ownsarai 16th December 2010 10:39 AM

I hope it exceeds R'n'RC to be honest. It seems to be pretty full of new, fresh material, as in styles we haven't heard much of from Ayu in either a long time or ever.

yeah, ayu promo is kinda late and not so fierce recently. Years ago, her promo used to be 'in your face', where everyone know Ayu has a new release, it's kinda like how AKB48 promos are now.

don't worry too much about the sales though, ballads might not be that much of a hit for foreigners, but her main market-the japanese actually like ballads, and those sort of Love Songs thing. Let's not forget that majority of her japanese fans are female ages between 20 to 35, these are the ones that like Ayu's ballads.

It can be the money for one. The only reason I'm not buying Love songs is because I can't afford even the CD only version. I really wish I could but it's just one of the situations where you can't spend money you don't have.

When I compare the theme of R'n'RC and LS, I see edgy verses simple. LS to me seems like it's going to be a unique album with a relaxed theme. R'n'RC had tracks that were edgy and rockish- which brings in more foreign fans.

As for sales... I think they will be close to the same. LS will be either higher than R'n'RC or lower.

jbrat2219 17th December 2010 03:07 AM

Her album sales are on the steady decline so it is possible and most likely it will sell less than RnRC... But only time will tell! Less than a week to go!

tokyoxjapanxfan 17th December 2010 03:16 AM

Ayu's last album to sell more than the proceeding album was Duty... haha.
I'm expecting this to sell less than RnRC :P

Misa-chan 17th December 2010 06:12 AM

Easiest answer. Some people, like myself, replied to the RnRC thread, but not to the LS thread.

I bought both, btw. ;)

If memorial Address was included then MY STORY would be the last album to sell more than the proceeding album

toniayu 19th December 2010 08:22 AM
