O.o That's really a big collection...
|
I don't get the point of posting it. Are you trying to advice people to don't be like the person? I'm just asking....
|
How long did you spent to make this thread? o.O how utter useless~ I'm sorry, but I don't get this thread. Is there a point that you made?
|
that person must be loaded =/
I think the point is dont invest too much into something you might lose interest in? or sell your stuff in smaller lots? ...I dunno :s |
I wonder if all of the singles and albums would add up to be this much if bought when released?
EDIT: I would love to waste 5g on this if I had it by the way! |
ya it's this guy is crazy and don't be wasteful
don't belittle the thread it has a perfectly valid point and people here are doubting the next ayu purchase all the time |
So the point of this thread is don't sell off your huge collection all at once.
Got it. |
Dear lord imagine the shipping costs

I knew a girl who I became friends with because of our mutual interest in Ayu, and she was a relatively new fan whereas I had been a fan since I 2003. Not a big deal, really, except that she owned Ayu's entire collection because she was filthy rich. Let me clarify that, her PARENTS were filthy rich. I don't think she ever held a job in her life. That was the most annoying thing: seeing someone else - a fan of only 4 months - with her ENTIRE collection (first press Japanese releases and everything), when I only own maybe 16 DVDs and CDs combined because I've been working hard my entire life just to afford the necessities.
While I love Ayu, I could NEVER afford to buy her CDs upon their release. $30 for an f-ing CD??? Hell, that's 3 weeks of groceries for me. It all depends on your priorities and necessities. A lot of people on this forum live with their parents and don't have student loans yet, so they don't have to manage their finances to include things like, ya know, living. Although if your priorities DO include getting the latest Ayu CD right away, then you could budget and save for it. I choose things like laundry detergent and shoes that don't have holes in them with my savings. And if you have a good job and work hard for your money, then hell, you deserve that first release Ayu CD! :yes Or, ya know, you can just have incredibly filthy rich parents. Whatever. But then having the whole collection doesn't mean much unless you're showing it to someone. Just sayin'. |
O_____________O,i'm speechless
|
In risk of derailing... whatever is going on in this thread, what is that Rock'n'Roll Circus bag? It looks different from the one they were giving away in the drawings at the album launch. Was it a Mu-Mo/Team Ayu bonus?
edit: lol the tags. |
^Um, yeah. I got rid of them, but a warning to the person who did them (I can see who): don't abuse the tags. It warrants infractions.
|
It seems to be in the original packaging...and I know a lot of that stuff is out of print. I dunno, maybe not $5k, but definitely several hundred dollars at least.
|
WOW! That's really insane! x(
|
I would love a full Ayu collection like that!!
If 5000 some odd dollars was spare change to me I would by that~~ :laugh |
honestly, if i was totally rich i'd probably buy something like this. of course, i'm not totally rich, so i can only sit here and wonder why the heck someone invested so much time and money into collecting all of Ayu's merchandise only to turn around and sell it?
TOTALLY in agreement with sugarbasil though...what does a collection mean if you didn't even have to work for it? i also see people in this forum with insane collections and i have to wonder how they afforded it! my collection is pretty big i think, but i've had to work for every single dollar that i've used to purchase my items. i don't purchase every single thing though like i'd like to. i used to try collecting every edition of every single for example, but i realize that its kind of pointless. i have gaps and holes in my collections too. but thats because i've worked for it myself. sometimes you just have to choose what your priorities are and whether buying a super expensive CD is worth not being able to pay a bill. oh well, i guess i learned...something...from this thread. |
I agree with teamayu. I would never spend that much on her collection, but in a very very rare occasion, if I just happened to have 5g to waste I'd so do it on this.
I mean, this person has all japan press, first press, sealed. And multiple versions of everything. This is definitely worth spending money on if you happen to have the money for it and feel like wasting it. ^IA. It's worthless if you didn't work for it. It doesn't have the emotional and nostalgic ties that a collection would if you worked your ass off for years to afford it. i remember someone on this forum posted a picture of what they had. they had like, 8 copies of the kanariya single, and 8 copies of the fly high single and none of them have been opened. Someone else got really upset at them saying they spent years trying to find a copy of each single to own and genuinely listen to while that person just didn't really care about them and they sat unopened on their shelf of other ayu merchandise. That really irked me. owning a bunch of copies of both singles, and not opening them or really caring about owning them while someone else spends forever trying to find just 1 copy of each so they can listen and enjoy them. |
I also agree with sugarbasil. My parents have never payed for any of my Ayu cds.
If I had loads of cash sure I'd buy everything she releases, but I am not sure if I would every buy multiple versions >_> |
I am not gonna lie; this picture looks stunning. A giant pile of Ayu CDs. But for me, there's no reasonable need in obtaining those. Most time I listen to music, I use my MP3-Player for it. At home I can play music on my PC with big, external soundboxes. I have every single booklet of ALL Ayu CDs that have been released so far as scans. I even have scans of the CDs themselves.
Personally, I see no reason in having these CDs in my room; I won't have any effective use of them anyways - I am completely digital when it comes to music xD But like I said before: The picture is really impressive. Impressive, but not causing any envy. I'd like to possess a pile of Ayu CDs myself though; I could strike a great bargain with 'em xD |
