Well more news. They were also recently in Athens, Greece where they performed for the closing ceremony of the Special Olympics. The videos are on youtube. :D

They're still trying? Wasn't that US album supposed to come like, forever ago?

Well, at least their company is trying really hard to get them known in the US.

ILoveGeniuses 7th July 2011 05:57 PM

They took like forever to get it together but now it's FINALLY ready and their English is also perfected, which helps a lot. Guess we'll see what happens.

Oh wow, I'd like to see what happens. Hopefully they're successful :yes.

I really hope that they get known because they are trying so hard.

They getting alot of promotion Wendy Williams show, promotion in the movie theaters,
performing in the USA and now Mets game omg so happy for them.
I hope they can be the 2nd asian group that gets recognize like Far East Movement.

NintendoHTF1242 9th July 2011 04:03 PM

If only SE7EN, Utada, or BoA's companies cared for them this much. We need to have a solo Asian singer hit it up on the Billboard charts.

ILoveGeniuses 9th July 2011 04:06 PM

Well i know they're not a solo act, but 2NE1's got an American debut planned for next year. Will.i.am seems determined to get them to succeed internationally. Still, I'm sure once at least one has made it through, it'll make it a bit easier for the next ones to follow.

As for BoA, maybe if this movie she's doing does well it might help her career here a bit.

NintendoHTF1242 9th July 2011 04:16 PM

I honestly don't think BoA will succeed here. Unless that movie truly changes that.

Far East Movement provided somewhat have a way for them. People in the states seem to like party music now, so 2NE1 has got this in the bag.

JackieRos 9th July 2011 09:57 PM

BoA knows english, she's a good singer and dancer.
I do think and hope she'll make it here.

That's exactly what I thought when I saw this :\

I have a feeling they're just wasting their time. They had some really great push (SYTYCD, Wendy Williams, etc.), but it really didn't seem to do anything at all. I think they should just go back to Korea, where they're huge.

Because they've already wasted a lot of time and money on a US career that has gone absolutely nowhere.

JackieRos 10th July 2011 06:34 AM

I always hated that being big in USA has to be charting high in billboard charts like top 10 or whatever.
I think being in billboard no matter what ranking is enough.

I'm just a jerk hehe.

^I don't know if you're referring to me saying they haven't made it big, but seriously no one here knows who the Wonder Girls are. Absolutely no one I know knows of them or of Nobody (with the exception of my friends that already knew of them before), Billboard charting or not (great that it made it on Billboard, but following the logic about it not being that important to make it to the top 10, then it's certainly not impressive making it to 86 or whatever number they got for 1 week).

I hope I'm not coming across as a hater. I'm a fan and have been since before the American debut. I just think they were doing so much better in Korea and really should've just stuck with that. I am/was glad they tried to break through here, but it obviously didn't work, so I don't think they should waste any more time here.
