Ayu's activities is a little slow this year...

Hello all~

First of all, I'd like to say that I'm NOT bashing on Ayu. I just wanna discuss with the members here ^^ so here it is...

This year, Ayu's activities is a little slow compare to the previous years. What I mean is her live appearances on TV and the release of her album. Yeah... I know a lot of people will argue that she's getting old or she needs a little break or she wants to slow down... etc. I don't know what you guys will say but that's just my opinion.

I mean I still LOVE her... but sometime, I question why Ayu's activities is so slow??? So what do you guys think???

panda♥ 26th December 2011 08:19 PM

she's a busy woman, maybe she's had other things to attend to this year. :shrug

I think Ayu's priorities is elsewhere now. Before, she only follow the way of common singer: release cd, promote it with live & magazine. Now, she gives the priority to her fans & spend a lot of time with them for example. Moreover she has others activities: sweet days contact & falses lashes.

I don't think that her releases is slow! Come to Europe: Do you know how many time an european artist take to release one album with barely 10 track? Sometimes it can take 5 years. Do you think that one year is slow?

One more thing: quality is better than quantity.

She released an album less than 12 months ago, an EP 4 months ago and that even though there was the earthquake AND is preparing a new album already. She isn't slow, she's just as fast as always, she just promotes less.
Also she had PoM, a-nation, now CDL, she released a line of fake lashes, contact lenses...she is more active than most other singers.

She got married! I also think that now that she's practically a legend within asian music, she's kicking back a bit. We Ayu fans are slightly spoiled, or used to be at least, when she was a complete workaholic and released a new song every other day. I guess that following her on twitter and TeamAyu now kinda makes up for that though.

Btw, is that comic sans? :weep

i don't mind the slow down but what i do mind is that she not releasing good songs since five and if this album turns out as bad as five i doubt anything good will come after it, but thats just me.

It really is. I loved FIVE and the sales being incredibly high for an EP that wasn't even promoted that much(in comparison to the album sales before it did better than Memorial Address) seem to show others agree :innocent
It had an anison-influenced strings-driven rock-track, an RnB midtempo, a midtempo ballad, a ballad and the WTF?-is this BRILLANTE, enough to make me happy.

PoetGirl 27th December 2011 12:27 AM

I dont know why... but I want her to bring it back.

Chibi-Chan 27th December 2011 12:47 AM

I miss her on tv. I love watching my favourite artists on tv. So I want her to do more tv performances!

By the way, I love comic sans!!!

Agreed too. Especially what happened after the earthquake, and then the MSta SP mishap late September...

And only five songs released this year, though we've got possibly a bunch for 2012...

YUKARI 27th December 2011 02:35 AM

She's deserved some slow down. I feel alright about it. Of course I miss her on TV too, but we've had enough already, isn't it?

And I'm sure next year she'll be back as usual ayu with tons of promotion... hope so :laugh

zellyx 27th December 2011 03:37 AM

I think it's slow maybe by her standards, but by American standards, it's maybe 3 years minimum between albums! Sometimes even 5 yrs - 10 yrs (unless the artist is so popular and does not do the composing/mixing personally).. it's torture!

So I really don't mind as long as it's anything within 1 year!

ExodusUK 27th December 2011 03:43 AM

I wish she wouldn't tour for so long (instead of 20 date Arena tours how about 5 stadium dates in the summer?...) two or three singles properly promoted during the year would have been nice.

alternarist 27th December 2011 06:26 AM

she was ready for another wonderful show AT2011 HOTEL Love songs, but had to rush out another concert in a month and that is PoM.

Considering now that CDL and AT2012 are both back to HOTEL Love songs, she probably has nothing much to do since it was all planned out earlier this year.

Probably this is why she had the time to whip out a mini-album by August and another one coming up.

Yes, ayu's relatively quiet this year, but she ain't doing nothing! :D

yoshino 27th December 2011 10:09 AM

I think she seemed slow at her singles/album releases cos she wanna slow down and enjoy life more? It's more like cos of less promotion too. I'm kinda greedy as a fan, hoping she does more releases and live shows. but as long as she did release something for the year I'm really happy. And I hope she spends more time with her hubby too!!

but for this year, 5 songs really is little to me. haha.

AyUmIXx 27th December 2011 03:59 PM

hmm it's true that she's not as active as she used to be.
but for me, she still looks extremely busy even though she doesn't release single after single like she used to be, but she's still busy with her other jobs like designing the contact lenses, eye lashes, land of eden, hanabi shop, etc..

and i don't mind at all though, we know that she's not at her high peak anymore, so i think it's good to see her slow down like this so she can try other things in the future.
i'm happy enough to know that she still releases album once a year and doing live concerts like usual.

love in music 27th December 2011 06:22 PM

someone should teach you what slow really is.
a lot of fans go YEARS without a release from their favorite artist. ayu fans only go a few months without a release and people start complaining.
she released two full albums in 2010, god forbid she take things a little slower than that for this year.

visionfactory 27th December 2011 06:48 PM

She's not slow at all, let her have some time for her private life

Maybe you have to familiarize with Namie Amuro's and Ami Suzuki's career more... that's slow!

MY EYES :tired

anyways, I dont see it as slow, I see it as Ayu moving away from the general way of the young artist in Japan.

She doesnt need to be crazy promoting or making appearances, or anything like that.

She honestly doesn't even need to work that hard, but she does anyway.

Sometimes I miss her participating in the action. Just little things. Like how at Kouhaku and stuff, she's never on stage with everyone, cause she's always gone...

It's ridiculous, I know. Or like how she wasnt at Best Artist...Never on tv line ups...idk...

But she has her schedule and she likes it. I think she has a goal in her mind, and she's working toward it.

Andrenekoi 27th December 2011 08:55 PM

Over promoting and over releasing after the end of your peak is dumb... She is at that point of an artist career when people are pretty much sick of her face, and being everywhere everytime would just kill her career now...

She needs to release and promote according to the public demand, and she is doing so...
