Sorry to open a new thread for that but yesterday i looked at the avex website and i have found differents files who contains the sales of the main contributors of fiscale year and i don't know if you have allready seen that but i let this numbers lol (it's the sales not the total shipping )

"I am …” album sold 3.14 million Cds" according to Oricon 2 308 111 copies O_o

"“Dearest” sold 870,000 Cds" according to Oricon 750 420 copies

"Endless sorrow”sold 840,000 Cds" according to Oricon 768 510 copies

I don't think this counts Asia sales... I remember reading some article about A Best (and Distance, it focused on the Ayu vs Hikki thing) and the A Best Asia sales reported was a lot more than the official Oricon sales...

The differences in all of them are so fricking big! WTF

avex's figures are based on copies of the album that were shipped, IIRC...not necessarily copies sold, which is what Oricon keeps track of.

and what about NEXT LEVEL?

No on the website it's well said that it's the copies sold lol nothing about next level though ...

Avex sold them, but to stores, not to individuals. What Oricon tracks are sales by stores to individuals. Some of those are in stores but were never sold from there, meaning they are in avex's numbers but not "real" sales.

But avex count the sales after top 300 and also envents not Oricon (just 30%)

Oricon counts international sales, right?

Oricon count most of Japan's stores/sites orders as long as it's in Japan.

avex's numbers are shipped copies sales though it's wierd that FIVE isn't certified platinum.

Those are most likely the numbers of copies shipped.

avex also counts concert venues sales? right?

Record labels are notorious for inflating record sales so take with a pinch of salt.

Of course ORICON is extremely flawed for a variety of reasons. Does not take into account digital sales, does not take into account sales if it's not in the chart etc...

daaang look at the A Ballads difference.
"A BALLADS” (album) 1,710,000--> 1 040 000 copies

^ clearly stores expected it to sell better than it did. For that time those sales for a best album are very very low.
