no foundation?! I don't believe that :laugh

ohsixthirty 13th October 2012 03:29 PM

Source?

I also find it hard to believe she has NO makeup. Though, it didn't say there was no photoshop. :lech

BlackSilence 13th October 2012 03:46 PM

i think on the other thread someone posted a bit about the shoot from the Numero editor and they said there was foundation applied. I think it's more like "no make-up" make up than literally NO MAKE UP lol she has eyelash extensions with mascarra possibly and lipstick/gloss for sure.

koumori 13th October 2012 03:48 PM

Yeah, I think she was probably referring to a "no-make up" make-up style, rather than literally meaning she didn't use any at all. :)

xLuna&1LOVE 13th October 2012 03:50 PM

No make up? Suuuuuurreee...
Or they photoshopped lots of masks and layers over her face.

But doesn't matter. I'm looking forward to more of this kind of shoots

TeamAyu2004 13th October 2012 04:53 PM

I think people take the 'no make up' to literal.

Anyways... this looks like it is from jpopasia... so.... yeah.
but thanks for the post!
Cant wait for the albums to hit and the magazine... this is gonna be an amazing shoot

I RAAAAAAAN in here ready to see pics.
It's good to know that Ayu's gonna go au naturale! I may need to buy this album...
I have money! holy shiz.

ayu_ready? 13th October 2012 10:59 PM

this is only called no make up

she has a BB cream or some luxury lightweight foundation which makes you look pretty natural, her eyebrows are worked on too. she wears natural gloss and yeah, eyelash extensions, just no blush, bronzer and highlighter like in previous shoots

and I am happy about it super duper much!

AyuWorld 13th October 2012 11:11 PM

hmm no make up ayu? no make ayu will be the ayu who just wakes up in the morning :innocent

truehappiness 13th October 2012 11:49 PM

You might as well link to the actual article as well. Tokyohive got the name of the magazine wrong too, making it "Numero UNO" instead of "Numero Tokyo".

http://www.daily.co.jp/gossip/2012/1...05446544.shtml

Here's where they mention something a bit different:
http://numero.jp/news-20121013-ayumihamasaki/

「全部のカットを全くの“すっぴん”でやろうか」と、提案してくれたのは、彼女のほうから。
「ファンデーションひとつ塗るだけで、顔の印象が変わるからね」と。

The line about foundation is in bold. It seems to mention 'one application of foundation'?

The word that was used to describe the shoot was 'suppin' which is Japanese slang for a face without makeup.

JackieRos 14th October 2012 12:00 AM

Natural make up doesn't equal no make up.
And there is always photoshop.

I can't wait to see número

ExodusUK 14th October 2012 12:06 AM

Ayu don't lie to ur fans like this

emi♡ 14th October 2012 12:08 AM

^everyone knows the truth.

happiholic★ 14th October 2012 12:43 AM

I think eyelash extensions and a single application of foundation is the closest thing to "natural" fans are ever going to get from Ayu. But, tbh, I don't care about natural beauty all that much. Jessica Simpson did that magazine cover with no make up and I found it so ugly I had to move away from the magazine rack. Its good to love yourself and all that, but I like make up and want to see my favorite stars looking good, not yucky.

FoxyPinkGirl 14th October 2012 01:53 AM

it's a natural makeup look. if you look closely she is wearing eye shadow, bronzer eye lash extensions and lip gloss. so she shouldn't say she isn't wearing makeup, instead she should say natural makeup.

tokyoxjapanxfan 14th October 2012 02:36 AM

I got that it says "let's do the shoot without makeup. Even one application of foundation changes your face." But I could be reading it wrong.

In the Beas UP magazine where Ayu had fabric wrapped around her, she mentioned that people (makeup artists and such) had been recently telling her how fantastic her skin looks lately, which was a surprise to her, or something.

Plus, she also has enough money to get facials every week if she wanted to. :-p

I thought maybe since they mention suppin in parenthesis it might be implying very little makeup, but they mention suppin again without the parenthesis.

It says she stood suppin/makeup-less in front of the camera and upon her picture appearing on the monitor, the staff were amazed by her beauty.

Or something along those lines.

Meh, either way, she's obviously wearing much less than she usually does and she looks great.

素顔 also means "true face" and a face without makeup.

Mikanchan 14th October 2012 08:20 AM

Ayu is very natural and pretty in this cover!! I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!

I guess it depends on the face. IMO Ayu gets 10 years on herself with make-up she's been wearing latelly, now she looks like she's 20 with all that natural face. I believe that when person is naturally beautiful the more make-up they use the less beauty you can see....
Make-up is alright when you want to emphasize your features, but i don't think it should be used in a way that it makes you look like a totally different person. And to me Ayu till these covers came out wasn't looking like herself whatsoever.
Abusing make-up leads to no good, you can end up looking worse than you actuallly do. And lots of girls these days are getting exactly that.

Me personally, i'd take these kind of pics like LOVE covers of Ayu anytime instead of any of the one's she's done through these past few months, they all were bearable, but horrible.....:innocent

alternarist 14th October 2012 12:23 PM

no make up, but plenty of photoshop.
