Do you guys think Ayu will ever release another physical single?

The last physical single to come out was L back in 2010. Woooooo!

Or do you guys think avex is too ~scared~ of Ayu losing her record so they're just gonna stick to the whole ~mini-album~ scheme? Because life is boring without Ayu announcing singles.

fairygirl 30th May 2013 08:28 PM

Good question ...
maybe she always wanted to have 50 singles and that's it...

hm or maybe avex really think so with that mini album/ album thing it's better
to hold the sales

mizuki-7 30th May 2013 09:00 PM

I think it will be difficult to continue without releases single ... If only if they care about sales and Avex is a company so they care maybe not Ayu but Avex yes ! so she should release single even if it's one per year !

She has allready the record she can't loose it so I don't believe this story they can choose a good date like before it's not like it wasn't common the Johnny's always do that even b'z etc...

TeamAyu2004 30th May 2013 09:51 PM

i hope so.
I wish she would so and it didnt get a umber one so the fans could stop obsessing about the whole streak thing.

adantatu2 30th May 2013 11:24 PM

I don't care the peaks, i just want new music like before, with 2 or 3 singles per year and then an album.

SURREAL__RAINBOW 30th May 2013 11:29 PM

She will have to eventually if she wants to keep on releasing music and doing well. Singles promote your ass, and they are a good way to promote your ass, that's why they're so popular in Japan at least and sell as much or more than physical albums!

And if loses her streak would actually help I think, she would release singles without having to worry about that.

emi♡ 30th May 2013 11:35 PM

oh, was it really back in 2010?

Meh. I used to love single for the material and the pictures and the packaging...now I think, I'm just fine with an album here and there.

Will she ever release one again...idk probably. Even if it's when she's 50 and they try to turn her into like a Seiko or something.

owlflight 30th May 2013 11:43 PM

I certainly hope so! I didn't start buying new releases until after L in 2010. I'm ready for the anticipation of a possible single.

Pieces_of_SEVEN 31st May 2013 04:31 AM

I sure hope so. A summer single would be nice! But I'm not gonna hold my breath. :(

ayu-michan 31st May 2013 04:34 AM

I would love it if she releases new single, but im not going to buy them XD i have this taste in liking to buy albums more than singles... it's a waste of money to buy single when the songs came in the album anw. but yes, it would be really nice to see some promo and singles around.

pimenta 31st May 2013 04:40 AM

I don't know, I guess she really thought about stopping at the 50th single... I just don't see how she's going to keep up with her carreer without releasing any more singles, she's been forcing too much ways to release new songs without new singles.

I said 'she' because I really don't think this is all Avex's fault... I hope Ayu and Avex get over this no-singles fase soon...

Pieces_of_SEVEN 31st May 2013 04:44 AM

I just hate avex.

xLuna&1LOVE 31st May 2013 02:48 PM

I believe she will keep going on release like this: "mini-albums", digital downloads and albums. So, I am not expecting any single-releases in future.

KarenPang 31st May 2013 02:56 PM

Doubt so , if not she would have released another single right after L isn't it ?

Already 3 years has already passed since L was released & to me it doesn't matter will she release another physical CD single or not as I don't buy her singles :shrug

Promotional-wise there isn't much difference between releasing a physical single and a digital one...

marty 31st May 2013 05:10 PM

God I would like they do, I think singles help in a lot of ways! But I don't really know if they will release a new one, I prefer to not think of it. I never understood avex decisions, most just don't make sense to me. But I'm just a nobody, and they're supposed to be wise managers, right?XD I'm just hoping.

I wouldn't think so. Those mini-albums cost a lot more than a single, and after the crap of having nothing unique to the mini-albums except for a few remixes, I'm sure fans won't fall for buying them again on the expectation that everything will be on the album two months later.

I think this is where her sales really fell hard and we started seeing things like (miss)understood selling 900,000 copies then Secret only selling 600,000 then GUILTY barely cracking 580,000 then NEXT LEVEL topping out at 350,000, RnRC coming in at 300,000, Ls coming in at 270,000. It sucks, but what really started hurting her sales was only having one or two singles every year. If you look at the drops, her biggest percentage drops started around the time she reduced the number of singles she was releasing every year. And now... from Ls with 3 singles and 270,000 in sales to PQ with no singles and 145,000 in sales, to La with no singles and only ~90,000 in sales. Those are HUGE drops that correlate with little promotion. So, I hope she gets back on track and really enjoys releasing new music again, because she seems to be falling backwards and getting bored with being a musician.

mte!

she NEEDS to release singles if she wants to continue her career. she can't always go on with mini-albums, it's just ridiculous!! with all that 5-releases thing she showed us that she can release 1 mini-album, 2 mini-album and then combine them into usual album. I think all her fans learnt this lesson well so we can expect even bigger drop in sales if she dares to release one more mini-album.
