This 2013 I have taken a little break from Jpop and focused on western music, which has allowed me to think a lot about which artists have meant more for me, here goes my ranking but i hope to see yours as well!

BREAKERZ no question about it

They're the ONLY artiste I'm 'crazy' enough to fly all the way to Japan last year to see them at their last day of their live house tour + finally after holding back for so long (due to personal reasons) , 26th Dec 2012 is still a day I never forget & that feeling of seeing all of them onstage is priceless to boot

Even though I support/listen many artistes besides BREAKERZ , they're the only ones that I wholeheartedly support & genuinely interested in what they can outside of music & they're the only artiste I had a strong urge to join their official fanclub , something that I do not have for other artistes I support

Let alone , considering I've been following BREAKERZ from their debut single until now , I've seen them grow emotionally , musically & physically for the past 5 years (haha I'm looking at you DAIGO you're getting more rounder as each year goes by *joke)

And oh yeah I've reached a stage where I don't care if other people ain't interested to listen to what I have to say about the guys cos I know in my heart they're great & I truly respect/like each of them for who they're & not what they're

I think mine has to be Ayumi Hamasaki.
Even when i get tired of her I always come back. She has something for everyone and has become a staple of my life...
I don't know if thats sad or not, but I'm happy I discovered her back in 2003 and hope she makes more amazing music far into the future.

If we're talking only about japanese artists, then for me Ayu is the number 1 Queen of All the Chart. Ayu is just Ayu.
Second place is for Kana Nishino! I followed her since the beginning, so she's very dear to me! <3
Then there are alan, Namie Amuro, Kumi Koda and Girls Generation (even if they're korean... but they do have a japanese career:innocent), in no particular order. It depends on the time, but they're all ladies I never get tired of and I follow constantly.

Ayu pretty much took over my 1# spot from Britney last year, something which i never thought would happen. Her music just appealed to me in a way i hadn't experienced before and i was certain she was going to stay there for at least a very very long time.

But no, Namie Amuro completely stole my heart and i have never been this obsessed and fanatic about an artist ever before. I'm never letting this flawless human being go, never. I'm gonna get buried in a long wig and black boots, with Yeah-Oh playing in the background and everyone's going to be wearing outfits from the New Look video.

If we're only talking asians then this would be my list!

Then namie and perfume somewhere.

But I'll always care about Ayu, utada and angela aki.

It will be the most weird thing, IMO
if there is someone that not placing Ayu on the first position...this is her sekai (world), right? except if you asked me, my fav artist beside Ayu, maybe my answer will be different.

My top 3 are B'z/Inaba Koshi, Ayumi Hamasaki, and Koda Kumi. Those three are the ones that never fail to deliver amazing music (even if I feel like some of their albums are a bit lackluster)! :D Well, to me, anyway... ^^;

-she (makes 8-bit-ish dancey songs)
-Freezepop (adorable Synthpop band)
-Nitrous Oxide (best Trance producer ever imo)

There are so many other artists that I really love (for now, Namie is in 4th place), but they're not like these 3. These 3 have managed to be on the top ones for so long, and no matter what new artists I get into, or what music styles I get into, I still care for them the most. My preference for the other artists that I like keep changing, these 3 remain the same.
