I was shocked with Flower's disbandment, but I thought I would be at least Ok with E-girls.
It is really sad.
They weren't as huge as AKB48, but they were popular.
What a shame :(

E-girls in recent year or two has been turbulent. What really happened?

lovethatkuu&ayu 27th December 2019 06:07 PM

Their 2018 album underperformed badly. It had tie-ins, magazine promo, television, and still barely made the top 5. Sales for it stalled at a little over 40k.

After that, things got awkward. No physical single was released following that album, except for random digital tracks. Then came that weird and basic E.G. Family hall tour, and that just felt all wrong.

A physical single finally came THIS year, but it was too late. That single has 2 strong CM tie-ins, a big t.v. push. It barely made the top 10, and sold 15k+...

Keep in mind that LDH in 2018 began pushing The Rampage, Fantastics, and Balistik Boys quite hard. Promo, tie-ins, media appearances, etc.

LDH has basically transitioned into being an alternative to J.E. Their female division has completely collapsed in a matter of months.

It's a shame, because those young ladies deserved better towards the end. I also don't think THEY choose this. This decision was 100% Hiro.

After the last change of line up I kinda gave up on them, honestly. So I was basically waiting for it to end after 2017 sadly.

I certainly love E-girls and even if I'm not a fan of every girl of the actual 11-member group, I admit it was a much more fun group to follow when they were a 29-member group

adantatu2 30th December 2019 04:32 AM

It is really hard to survive the japanese market if you are a female in a group that isn't idolish. It sucks :(

Do you know that Sana (TWICE member) was about to debut in E-girls ?

Ashen Twilight 30th December 2019 05:14 AM

First Flower and now this group. LDH can’t manage artists to save their life. This is extremely disappointing. I did only like a few E-Girls songs but they were the best bops! Reina’s career won’t go anywhere just seeing how they treat Crystal Kay.

visionfactory 31st December 2019 02:28 AM

^And still MIYAVI signed with them just last week

As someone who enjoys a lot of releases coming out of 88rising, I’m excited to see what gonna happen with Happiness. Same with the girl joining Afrojack.

There is something wrong with their management of their female singers. :irked:irked

Hey! Sorry for the late response. Two artists I like to listen to from 88rising are Rich Brian and joji. 88rising is a record label, if I recall, that specialize in Asian artists. If you want some song recommendations I recommend “These Nights” and “Yellow” by Rich Brian and “Walking” by joji :)

^Thank you!

I attended their concert yesterday, altough it didn't sold out :( I would say they sold 90% of the tickets

Bigtop 24th February 2020 05:58 AM

^ When is the end of the national arena tour?

I could also speculate there may be a few people concerned about the recent coronavirus that they cancelled their plans?

visionfactory 28th February 2020 01:23 AM

^August, but with the corona virus cancellations I don't know if they will postpone it

Also it was very troublesome to get to Mie. After the concert there was no public transport and the road to town was very dark fans lined up with their phone lighting up the road it was pretty sad.

Bigtop 28th February 2020 06:59 AM

^ August is still far ways off, but who knows...

adantatu2 2nd March 2020 05:09 AM

In other news, DREAM AMI is going to get married.

visionfactory 3rd March 2020 07:03 PM

Reina's solo debut song is called "Call me Sick"

visionfactory 29th November 2020 07:39 AM

E-girls is set to release their final best-album titled "E-girls" featuring 3 new songs

It will be released in 2CD format but FC edition will contain a 3rd disc to cover their entire discography

They will be holding their last concert on December also
