'Memorial Address' sells over 1 million copies
I had noticed this earlier today from Yomiuri, but for those who didn't see it, here's a short except from the article on the site:
...According to Avex of a putting on the market on the market agency, the mini-album "Memorial address" just put on the market on December 17 already breaks through 1,100,000 sales. Total energy will be poured into national tour (29 public performances) from the 24th 2004 this month. It will be debut circle six years in April. Hamazaki who reached to an extreme of the peak of a music scene of Japan at –Ņ speed goes to a stage new again... |

avex actually made good business decisions this time, the album is selling sooooo freaking well! and especially so for a mini-album.....go ayu!!!!!

At the end of the article, of course, there is a mini-bio, you know? Her real name is •l¨č•ą. I had a feeling there was a kanji to her first name, she just didn't use it. Same with Suzuki Ami. She always wrote "Ami" in hiragana, but there was a kanji for her name. This isn't uncommon among stars, I think. But there is always the instance where there really is no kanji for the first name, just hiragana or katakana. Still, it's interesting!! I assume her first name is still pronounced "ayumi."
