please let me know your opinions!! [ffx-2 theme songs]
I've seen very negative remarks about Koda Kumi for her singing of the 2 FFX-2 theme songs REAL EMOTION and 1000 No KOTOBA at other FFX-2 forums. Most of the people there are American/Euro fans and I think that's probably the reason why they would prefer Jade's English versions but it's so unfair that they start to judge that Jade is better than Koda Kumi because they couldn't understand japanese! >.< Some of them have yet listened to Koda's versions and already saying that Jade's are the best!
While some are still stucking up on the topic of how bad Koda's english sounded in her english versions for the 2 theme songs, it's making me pretty irritated. But afterall, I do want to know what you guys think? Please set your opinions only when you have listened to both Jade and Koda Kumi. Jade's English versions and Koda Kumi's Japanese versions of Real Emotion and 1000 No Kotoba/Words can be found at http://www.ffx2.net or http://www.ffx2.com Which do you like better? REAL EMOTION (Japanese) by Koda Kumi or (English) by Jade? 1000 No Kotoba/Words (Japanese) by Koda or (English) by Jade? 1000 No Kotoba Orchestral ver. (koda) or 1000 Words Orchestral ver.(jade)??? |
not really good

I really took a liking to both "real Emotion" and "1000 no Kotoba" when I first heard them. I have always liked Kumi, and I felt that these were two of her better tracks (with "1000 no Kotoba" being my favorite song from her thus far).
Before playing the US release of FFX-2, I had not heard the Jade versions of the songs. I was not sure what to expect from them. After seeing the game's intro, I didn't think the english version of "real Emotion" was neither significantly better nor worse than the Japanese one. I will give the nod to the Kumi version, in this case. In regards to "1000 no Kotoba/Words", after experiencing the CG firsthand, and seeing how the song worked, I have to say I prefer the Jade one. Same goes for the orchestral version. Is this to say that Jade is better than Kumi? No, but actually seeing and hearing these songs in context really affects my opinion of them. |
i cant even download it, its to awkward..try n give them to me some other way please ^^

i think that real emotion is the best song on there, except the fact that some english singer sings the song! however, i heard koda kumi's version of real emotion, and i love it! so yeah, i think ffx-2 songs are good.
But, they didnt have the fanfare when you win!!!!!! |
so far i have onli hear the pretty pony~pretty pony~pretty pony~ ver~ and it rox~!! lol~ and believe it or not, i actually cried when watching the ffx2 vid for 1000 no Kotoba, so can tell how much i luv it.... i suppose for this game, the original pretty pony~pretty pony~pretty pony~ version shld be the better choice~ =)

I love the pretty pony~pretty pony~pretty pony~ versions better too!! XD But it's be fairer to judge when you have listened to both versions XD

I actually dis-like Jade's version. I like Koda's Japanese AND English versions. I hate it when people say Koda's English suck, (I think it was her first time speaking that much?) lets see them sing an entire song in Japanese. I admit her English isn't the best, but it's still a good song. I guess people who aren't into j-pop won't appreciate Koda's work.... I still don't like Jade's version...it lacks...something .. XD

Jade sings real emotion in an awkward key... I think it sounds better in the key Koda sings it in... not all squeaky like. her voice sounds better. 1000 words too... the arrangement for the english version is nice, but again I enjoy Koda's voice more. |
koda is a better singer...
they should had keep her.... |
I think KK sang them both just perfectly, 'specially 1000 words. But couldn't Squenix get someone better or better yet, someone we've actually heard of to sing it instead of some girl that prolly sings for her schools chorus :\ it's like an insult to KK

1000 words was relli relli beautiful~~!~! :luv2
i havent heard 1000 words koda kumi version anyone have it?? :yes |
I agree with Cavi, especially with the orchestral version. ._.;
|
I didn't like Jade's rendition of either song. I'd even pick Kod'a english versions over Jades, but that's just how i feel. the originals are fantastic, with 1000 no kotoba being my favourite song of all time. Why they couldn't just leave the song in japanese i don't know. They did it for FFX with Suteki da ne so why not these? -_-

I started listening to Koda Kumi's versions first, overplayed 'em, and got used to listening to them. Then when I played the american version, Jade's versions just sounded really bad, especially her rendition of real Emotion. Although, her version of 1000 words was decent. Not as good as Kumi's, but it was alright. I felt teary during the 1000 words movie too...lol

I really loved Jade's version when i first played X-2 I loved her voice and how she slurred down to those half steps :). But, I'd have to say I like Koda's versions better than Jade's, 1: Koda puts more feeling into it, 2: You can tell Koda has a more matured and controlled voice :yes

and "You can tell Koda has a more matured and controlled voice " I think u guys said all i needed to say, I mean... I really didn´t like the american version... its just a regular voice, i dunno why they chose her (Jade), they could have done with Koda english... i know the voice is difrent, etc, but still... the one that actually is singing in game is LENNE and not YUNA .... so... so what if the voices change a little? Kumi could have a big change to be known in america with the game, but nooooooooooooo... "let´s put another song..."¬¬ |
