MISIA- Singer for Singer- New Album Previews

http://www.rhythmedia.co.jp/misia/sfs/

Alot of them sound good to me from the previews. =D

Especially the first few minus the first, and oh course, Namae no nai sora wo miagete still sounds amazing.

BanFan 2nd December 2004 06:47 AM

I've never heard her before, and recommended songs? (or is it a group?)

~K+ 2nd December 2004 06:56 AM

Nope, MISIA is a soloist. Specialises in mainly ballads, r&b and soul music.

Recommended songs by me:
- Namae no nai sora wo miagete
- IN MY SOUL
- Wasurenai hibi
- Tobikata wo Wasureta Chiisana Tori
- 星の降る丘
- Escape
- Tsutsumikomu You Ni (Hoshizora no live- Best of Acoustic Ballade version)
- DON'T STOP MUSIC!
- Everything
- SNOW SONG

um..which are ballads? I'm not a soul/r&b person..:P

Yeah, that's why I never got into MISIA. She has an amazing voice and all but her music just doesn't get my attention. 'Everything' was this RAVED about song but I listened to it over and over and just didn't get what was so amazing about it. Meh maybe it's just me ^^;;

The bolded ones are ballads off my recommended list, I'm not crazy about 'Everything' actually, but it's a 2 million selling single and one of Japan's favourites, so check it out anyway. Her 'Hoshizora no live- Best of Acoustic Ballade' is a must-check for ballad lovers, since her live singing is amazing.

And um, 'Escape' might be interesting to check out even if you don't like R&B, because there's a particular high note (very high) she hits flawlessly. Umm. Yeah.

natalaxie 2nd December 2004 11:51 PM

i love misia! does anyone have the romanisations and/or translations of the song names and romanisations of the artist names?

BanFan 3rd December 2004 03:32 AM

~K+, do you have a recommended album that features more ballads, or the best ballads, so I can try to find it in LA. :D

~K+ 3rd December 2004 03:39 AM

I already did! :P

Check/get "Hoshizora no live - Best of Acoustic Ballade". It's basically a compilation + ballade album, and everything were given an acoustic arrangment. It's a live album, but don't worry, her live is as good if not better than her studio singing, and the recording live sounds great.

She does have a Ballad album of studio recorded ones, but there's no OS Ver available, plus I think the arrangment of the live album is great.

Sorry! I thought those were just songs...><

Thanks for the links! :D

I think I'll get Hoshizora no Live -Best of Acoustic Ballade! :)

Do you have any samples or are they on the official site?

~K+ 3rd December 2004 04:32 AM

Have you checked if there's any? I'm not sure myself. If there isn't I'll see if I can rip some for you. (Again, you missed out when I uploaded those MISIA/Oni/YAIKO samples!)

BanFan 3rd December 2004 04:35 AM

Argh! Why did I get interested in those 3 as after all the uploads were gone! Well, at least I'm getting Oni's Ultimate Collection CD (perfect for me since I haven't bought anything by her) and Air/Cook/Sky. There weren't any samples..-.-;

Off topic, but I want the brilliant green's SUPER TERRA2000 DVD after reading J-fan's review. It's only $27 at CD Japan, but I've never ordered there before...

~K+ 3rd December 2004 05:02 AM

I heard cdjapan's shipping is pricey, so I've never ordered there before neither. I'll upload some samples from Hoshizora no live later.

And here they are, two songs.

That's a neat line-up of some good composers they have for her there; so far the one I like the most is 'fuyu no ETORANJU'. =)

Thanks for the sample tracks I really liked them! :D

As for the DVD, Yesasia doesn't have it, so I'm hoping I could find it in that CD store since I saw Utada's DVD in there, but it'd probably be something rare to find... :(

But CD Japan has a discounted reissue out around the 22nd so maybe Yesasia will add it...
