In a recent piece for the February 2005 issue of Interview Magazine, Elton John calls Utada a "surprise," and that her album Exodus contains "interesting dance and pop music." He goes on to proclaim that Utada "could be the first Japanese recording artist to really make it in the West." :yes :yes :yes

that's exactly what he said. I gotta admit that I really agree with Elton John about his views towards music these days and in the future (I don't have radio satellite though)... I hope that someday, we might see Elton John and Utada perform! That'd be interesting. :D I'm still very surprised that Elton John talked about her (some other artists). :D

That's excellent. Elton's been around long enough to have a pretty decent view on music, and to say that has got to be some great praise :)

While it's good to get praise from someone so big, he's been annoying a lot of people with his baseless comments in the past few months. So he's lost a lot of credibility in the eyes of many people.

I never liked Elton John because of his attitude problem, and he's praising Hikki? That means Hikki really has something to impress this man. Cheers to her!
