A mod or admin could probably explain this better than I can, but I'll try. . .

"Sticky" is used to place major news announcements or notices at the top of each forum. For example, in the news room all the important and confirmed info about Ayu's new album is listed as a "sticky," placing them above all the other topics in that forum as important pieces of information.

If you go to the main AHS page and scroll down to the bottom, you will see what 3 of the icons mean. A lock symbol means that the forum/topic is locked and you cannot post replies to it. If there is a yellow/white checkmark, then that means that there are new topics in that forum that you have not read. If there is a blue checkmark, then that means that you have read all the topics in that forum.

Do you mean the little circular icons like this: http://www.ahsforum.org/forum/images/icons/icon5.gif ?

Those are just little icons that anyone can use to reflect what it's in the post, if they feel like it.

Sticky topic means that they won't be replaced by new topics and will stay on the top place forever until further action by admins or mods.

thx thx~
so does it mean anyone can put "Sticky" on the title of is it just for mods and admins?

Grantith 3rd December 2002 09:43 PM

Only a moderator or admin can make a topic sticky. If you jyust type "sticky" in the title, then nothing special will happen to it. A moderator/admin has to select a topic to be sticky.
