When L'arc~en~Ciel members went solo

I was reading some things on l'arc~en~ciel and saw that they each went solo. So I did some searching o_O what happened when they went solo? Did Laruku disband, and then regroup? And, I wonder how each of them did solo

i don't think they disbanded or anything, they just had solo projects.
just like recently, tetsu69 released a song "reverse" for the love for nana tribute.

In their opinion, they said they never disbanded. They just pursued their own solo projects from 2001-2003, and put the group's activity on temporary hiatus with their last single being "Spirits dream inside" before they went solo. Then came back with "READY STEADY GO!" in early 2004.

Of the 4, HYDE did the best, with all his singles and albums hitting the top 10, and a few No.1s up his sleeve.

tetsu under the name of tetsu69 wasn't far behind with most of his releases in the top 10 also.

Ken's band "SONS OF ALL *****S (S.O.A.P.)" peaked at No.11 with one singles, but the rest were just in the op 40s.

Yukihiro's band "Acid Android" only released one album which peaked at No.67.

Ooohh, thanks; that clears it up xD Are they still doing their solo projects? I've heard one song by Tetsu69, and it was awesome. I want to find more songs by them. I have Angel's Tale by Hyde, but I don't like it too much =/ How did Ken and Yurihiro do? Is their stuff any good?

i aint too sure about ken and yuki's individual albums.. but hyde has lotsa great songs. i'm not exactly crazy over angel's tale either.. here are my recommendations:

hyde's '666' album: hello, shining over you, prayer
hyde's 'roentgen' album: evergreen, shallow sleep
tetsu: white out, tightrope

There has been something going on that HYDE will be working on some solo stuff sometime soon. I think it's pretty awesome, since I LOVE his solo stuff :evillaugh

I don't think bands have to disband to go solo. But sometimes it's worrying that members may get too indulged in their solo and decided to go all out for it, ending up in disbanding.

I think Laruku disbanding for a while has made their newest stuff sound .. omg +_+ so much better. I love their new songs ~ !

Larukus|New World 14th May 2005 04:22 AM

I've never heard any of their old stuff. Only the songs on Smile. I searched everywhere for some of Ken's and Yukihiro's songs, but all I found were some clips of songs >.< I like Tetsu's stuff though xD but I'm not a big fan of that slow singing Hyde does in Angel's Tale. Is all of Hyde's songs like that?

~K+ 14th May 2005 07:40 AM

No, only the material on his first album "ROENTGEN" were like that. (Other than "SHALLOW SLEEP" having more pace than the others, which is an excellent song by the way.)

All the tracks on the "666" album were fast paced or rock/punk.

I love Tetsu's work!!! ^^ I just got his album from a friend on another forum and it rocks!! ^^

Brittany 14th May 2005 06:56 PM

I agree what with K~ said .. the only slow paced song I could say.. well, it's not really slow.. but, yeah. The song "Shining Over You." I LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEE that song. I highly recommend it :yes

I have some old Laruku songs, if you want, I can send some to ya :yes
