The name of the single scares me I like Kokia but the song title makes it seem like she not gonna be singing anymore

OMG! i haven't realised about that, besides, she is already a MOTHER! so.. perhaps she wants to leave her career as an artist (from this commentary: http://www.ocn.ne.jp/music/kokia/ http://210.190.168.30/music/kokia/comment.html )

mmm, this is happy for her, but it's kind of sad for her fans too...

Calico 28th May 2005 07:36 PM

I didn't know KOKIA was a mother. o.o;

Personally, I'm really excited about this release. And Chouwa! I love that song! It'll be interesting to see what she does with it now. Thanks for the news.

in this web,
http://www.ocn.ne.jp/music/kokia/

there is a link (the pic with two carnations, and the kanjis haha no hi... etc) to a kokia message:

http://210.190.168.30/music/kokia/comment.html

i'll translate this message as much as I can (someone translated it to me into Spanish and now i have to translate it into English... but it will be always better than on-line translators! ^^)

<<The kanji for "strawberry" has the kanji of "mother (haha)". is the perfect fruit to put on top the words “always grateful” that's why i have tried to make a tower of strawberries to say you " always grateful, mum">>

Such a message I wrote once for a certain mother's day. I had a tower of strawberries on top of the table and I wondered if I could eat them in four years. (yesss, the meaning of this is strange...)

A lot of things have happened in my life, having been a family of two: mother and daughter. Mother’s day has a special meaning to me. Each year, as the day approached, I thought about ideas to surprise her.

I’ve been lately trying to write a song that talked about my mother. BECAUSE I HAVE BECOME A MOTHER THIS YEAR, this was not difficult. Thinking about me as a mother, I knew how she would feel, and at the same time, I could thank her from the bottom of my heart the love she gave me (gives me).

The song (I suppose she refers to AKAI CARNATION) tells the impossibility of being born without my mother. I always have a mask that does not allow me to sing such personal things, but I tried to sing this song.

This goes to every single mother of yours,
And this goes to every single feeling of yours.

“Mum, always grateful” are simple words but deep ones.

she doesn't say nothing of this respect in the message, i don't know if she mentioned something in the special show she did in that day, but i hope she keeps singing, she has such a beautiful voice and style!

AyuGAME 29th May 2005 12:12 PM

first time i see it
i think she is gonna retire too
but looks like it's just a title not have any message on it

kournikova 30th May 2005 09:46 AM

TeamAyu 30th May 2005 10:05 AM

The title scared me as well SINCE I LOVE KOKIA! Seriously is 'dandelion' not an amazing song? IT'S SPECTACULAR! I hope this isn't the end of KOKIA, but I'll definitely be looking forward to this release... this reminds me of Gackt and his release 'Last Song'.

KOKIA has such an unique voice, it would be a shame if she retired :(

Can't wait for this new song; sounds like it's gonna be something soft

yes, dandelion is a gorgeous song, it has a very high quality, the sounds are so clean, and the voice, well, what i can say? the most perfect use of the voice (apart from the last live for the mother's day, a total exit, go JPPOP suki tracker to download)

oh, so last song produced the same effect? i was not informed those days of the last gakcuhi news ^_^

Single preview on J-poop.com

It's different from any J-pop I've heard, I think it sounds really cool, a little dramatic. What do you think of the sample? :)
