are the special 4 covers first press only? or are they not 'special' and are all random?

The overseas version at YesAsia still has 4covers+slip case. I don;t know how it is with the japanese ones.

i think the japanese ones are the same as the OS ones. 4 covers with a carboard sleeve

The slipcases and bonus inner covers are a First Press bonus for the Japan version. After the first presses are sold out, they're pressed without the slipcase (jewel cases only), with the default cover. Same deal as 'A BEST'.

Overseas versions on the other hand, I believe are printed only in the First Press edition. (For 'A BALLADS' anyway)

Correct me if I'm wrong though.

so you're saying if i buy A BALLADS right now, i won't get one of the four special covers? for either japanese or overseas versions?

or can i with the overseas but not the Japan version?

You'd probably get it with the Overseas Version. But I can't be 100% sure about that as I ordered my OS copy May 2004. ><;

i buought A BALLADS overseas many time ago, but some time after it was release, and i got the box a¡nd a random cover. i think trying the overseas version will be the best bet! overseas version have given me another present (A BEST with random cover and box, and this time, i bought the thing with two years of difference from its release!)

Well...what I'm saying is if you buy the Japan version now, you won't get the First Press with the limited covers for sure.

But if you buy the Overseas version now, there's a chance you'd still get the slipcase with the bonus cover(s).

Your best bet is to buy the Overseas version and test your luck, as Cutie Honey brought A BEST OS years after release and still got the slipcase.

I just bought the OS version 2 months ago at the shop, it also has the slipcase! ^^

Both online stores have A BALLADS HK OS in stock. I haven't ordered from play-asia before, but HMV HK is pretty fast with cheap shipping, but most of the time the prices are a tad bit high. But if you're used to shopping with yesasia, their prices aren't too much higher I guess.

And I think Mad Cactaur brought it locally from where he lives.

Rorro: Really? I ran a double check on Yahoo! Auctions HK yesterday to see if there's any. Would be interested to see it, but wouldn't be surprised if they pressed more copies with the slipcase actually.

I've seen a few around April or May of 2003 at an anime goods shoppe in San Diego. They were regular press with the obi and regular cover instead of the slipcase. The Avex Taiwan version I mean.

hmmm, the only way i can be 'sure' with the slipcase/4covers is with ebay....but my mom wont let me use it X_X
