No it's just a silly rumour as usual.

It was a rumour that was like, Ayu was annoyed that Max Matsuura signed Ami Suzuki onto Avex without her consent which angered her because at her debut (or early years) they were like, compeitors, Ayu for her lyrics and Ami for her cuteness. I think this was mentioned during a tabloid about how Ayu was going to be dumped by Avex.

Probably untrue... can't say for sure, after all. Ayu is human...

I think they kinda look alike. and they're both cute but Ayu is prettier. I think it's just a rumor. usually the tabloids want to make Ayu look like a big bad wolf.

maybe Ayu does so u never know, but that was just a rumour, very much over exagerated too~

Well they said the same thing about Namie and Hikki and I doubt it's true.

I have read somewhere from the old days when they were competitors that ayumi stated that they actually were friends...

given the fact they are on the same label, there must be some tension and competition. but whether they hate each other or not, no one would know apart from themselves.

Oh, I remember! The news came apparently from a Hong Kong Tabloid. Apple Daily I think? I've learnt not to trust news from that. Just take it with a pinch of salt and they're definitely making fallacies about both Ayu and Ami.

HK papers get their Jpop news from Japanese papers, so yes, it does originate in Japan. Some from Mainichi, others from popular women's magazines (i.e. gossip rags)

Whether or not it's true, we'll never know as all entertainers put up a front between their private life and the public.
