According to Weekly Bunshun, Ayu was very uncooperative during her trip to thailand last year.
During her trip there as ambassador for Thailand's ruby produces, she was rude during her meeting with the queen, Ubol Ratana Mahidol. According to the laws there, she could have been persecuted immediately for her behaviors.

Interviews with staff on thailand's side and a staff in her recording label (edit:Avex) revealed that the Thailand government had spent 1.44 million Hongkong dollar in sponsoring her trip there, but received unreasonable reception from her.

Accusation #1: Ayu complained on why she has to go to places like this, and only agreed after her company's repeated explanation that it helps in her international career.

Accusation #2: When Ayu leaved Japan on november 26th, she refused to board the plane because of the time taken to check-in 1000 kg of luggage and there are others sitting beside her first class seat. In the end her favorite teddy bear took the seat beside her.

Accusation #3: Ayu specified that she wants to stay at hotel that can park helicopter, but she did not have intention to fly in helicopter. The relevant department arranged for a Thai dance group for a dance as a greeting to her, but she waved aside the performance.

Accusation #4: When she arrived at the military school for the award ceremony, (edit: should be a ceremony that declares her status as ambassador for Thailand's ruby produces.) she refused to attend the ceremony and stayed in the room. She was reportedly said that "You want me to kneel before the queen? No way!" and even left in a rush after telling them off by "I don't like it means I don't like it", injuring staff as a result.

Accusation #5: Ayu left quietly during the dinner after meeting the queen, and did not have a thai dance with her as planned. This had angered the royal family.

Ayu's company (edit:Avex) refused to comment on these accusations.

The Sun in Hong Kong also carried a similar report, with addition:

She requested to stay at Peninsula hotel, which has a helicopter pad.

Another request was to bring 200 minders with her, but this was rejected by the government.

*frustrated* Isn't that the same Apple Daily that said crap about Ayu being the worst artist in Japan? Forgive me, but I lost all respect for Apple Daily back when they reported on the topic I just mentioned and disbelieve this tabloid. Why would they wait months later to supposedly reveal what happened in Thailand? Did it take them that long to make up a tabloid?

It seems like every time she goes to other places in Asia, tabloid seekers are right behind her looking for another victim to target, especially someone as popular as Ayu.

Ayu 24th January 2003 05:34 AM

They are juz trying to increase their sales...these mercenary ppl...i saw a newspaper in HK which said Ayu was very cooperative. Some time back there were also news of ayu acting rudely in Hor shanghai(cant remember) I mean, have u guys ever heard of ayu acting like this in japan?these overseas media are juz jealous of her popularity dats all...dun forget she won the most influential asian artiste in MTV asia 2002

Biscuitgirl 24th January 2003 06:07 AM

It's just tabloid junk. Exactly like what you'd see stateside. I'd just ignore it. Ayu is very grateful to her Japanese fans. There's no way she'd act like this, especially to a royal family.

x-cryoconite 25th January 2003 03:31 PM

i seriously dun bliv it !!! ayu dun seem to have this kinda attitude. damn tht paper !!!

xluvayux 25th January 2003 03:51 PM

poor Ayu...people really rip on her about the stupidest things, and its a chinese newspaper, they didnt even try and get any compliments or accusations from thailand at that...so how can you believe!!

Grantith 25th January 2003 04:11 PM

I dunno, I think those stories are pretty hard to believe. Although it's possible that they are true, I certainly don't believe them. Whenever Ayu goes somewhere in Asia there is always a big crisis and something bad always supposedly happens to her. Those newspapers like to pubish so much crap about her. I really wish we could know the truth of what happened because I don't believe those newspapers. Apple Daily has a history of bashing Ayu so I don't believe anything they say. It's clear they have a grudge against her so I"m sure that anythign they say about her is biased and probably exagerated or totally not true.

xEvox 25th January 2003 04:11 PM

hmmmm no comments on the newpaper..... hope it goes bankrupt soon.....

ImpactBreaker 25th January 2003 04:14 PM

It's probably not true. If it is, then Ayu was probably tired and forced to do something she couldn't at that time....you know, when you're forced to do something when you're very tired you end up throwing your frustrations on innocent people so maybe that's what could have happened.

Biscuitgirl 25th January 2003 04:34 PM

Yeah, I agree with Impact. If it were true, that's probably the butt of it. But these tabloids are typical. Anyone who is popular is going to be trashed by someone.

kazuni 25th January 2003 04:41 PM

so just ignore it :P

Piccolo 25th January 2003 04:51 PM

Ayu doesn't seem to be that kind of mean person. I doubt its truth. I wonder what she has to say about all this......
