I just got a confirmation email from YesAsia.com that my CD+DVD version of (miss)understood was shipped today on December 28th. Therefore, it looks like avex trax did push the date forward a few days.

of course she is #1 =]

YAY! That probably means that my CD+DVD is also on its way!

I'm not a 100% sure, but I think Oricon will be not avaible in the New Years Eve and their next issue will be out on 9/1. Sorry, don't know if it's true, but I read that somewhere.

Oh and AVEX didn't push the date back, the official date is still 1/1 but that day stores will be closed and albums are always released on Wednesday. Ai Otsuka album was also released before the release date.

i read that the reason that (miss) understood is counted is partly cos of preorders shipped to the stores, n i also think its cos of the skipped week.

not all singles/albums r released on wednesdays. exile, w-inds. released their best album n single [respectively] on jan 1st n it was a saturday. mai k released her best album on jan 1st n it was a thursday. also, according to BoA's official website, her single "LISTEN TO MY HEART" was released on 1/17/02 which makes it a thursday. the wednesday release dates r just a norm but they r not a "must".

n stores in Japan will open on 1/1. its not like here in north america where when theres a public holiday (ie: christmas, thxgiving etc.) all retail shops close. i heard from a person that many retail stores r doing sum "grab bag "Fukubukuro" event now". [dunno wut that means]

But Ayumi album release date is on sunday, isn't it? But it's on stores since Wednesday. That's what I meant. Not the official date, but the day the album was shipped to stores.

K, wasn't sure. I tought the store would be closed because the new year eve is more important to Japanese people than to ocidental. But guess stores are open...
