Who do U think should change their image

So its basically as the title say who would you like to see do something different with their public image and who do you think should stay the same.

I pesonally although i love her music would like to see koda kumi do something different about her image. (put more clothes on) and no she doesnt have to dress like a nun but it just seems that some of the stuff she does is a little tasteless.:thud

I would love mika nakashima to do more of a rock image :D

ai otsuka is starting to bug me a little too her image is almost too cutesy

utada hikaru -it would be nice if you smiled more (I mean ayu is a ballady <is that a word , artist but even she does fun videos too:D

namie- i love her as well but stop the raunchy songs like want me want me and if you can understand japanese you should know what i mean:headache

and ayu dont try to be over sexy your fans love you just as you are .:yes

i think thats it and let me say this also please no bashing all the people that i have mentioned above i am fans of so in no way am i bashing:no

Annabelle 5th January 2006 03:12 AM

I think they should stay exactly like they are :yes

sora-kara 5th January 2006 05:44 AM

I didn't really like Maaya Sakamoto's look for her latest album Yuunagi Loop. She could do something more classy for her next release.
I loved her look for Shounen Alice, but her looks is always changing, so I'm not really concerned.

I'd like to see Hikki do some more colourful and happy things like traveling. She was also soo cute like that! (although I love her new haircut!)

I'd like to see CORE OF SOUL completely revamp their image for some reason. I'm not sure why, but they should pull an entirelly different look.

I liked HALCALI's look for Tip Taps Tip, but I'm afraid they might end up looking like a pretty generic hip-hop duo under Sony's thumb.

Mika Nakashima looked awesomely hot all rocked out as Nana. She should definatlely do that again!

And Kuu, please, for the love of God put some clothes on!

lotusoka 5th January 2006 05:54 AM

Ayu has been looking classy to me lately... maybe thats just my opinion though?

The cover of Glamourous Sky makes my jaw drop everytime I see it. Mika should definitely do more with that look.

BanFan 5th January 2006 06:24 AM

Ai Otsuka is not too cutesy. She has plenty of mature songs. Let's see, with LOVE COOK, half the songs were mature, with the other half ranging from mellow and goofy, too a little crazy. She's not all cutesy. I'm happy with the way she is, if she had all mature music I'd get a little bored of her... .-.

People who should change their image, to better themselves (Not just for what the public wants), are:

Koda Kumi - I agree, please put some clothes on.

Mika Nakashima - The NANA look was for NANA, right? o_o;

HALCALI - I agree that T.T.T. is a bad sign for the future, oh commercialism/conformity. I miss Girigiri Surfrider!
-----------------------------------------------
Image changes are bad, too much annoying marketing and commercialism. Yuck. Except SAYAKA, she had a reason to change her image from cutesy pop-star. I feel so bad for her with all those family issues and her creepy over-protective mother (Seiko Matsuda) She definetely needs to be anything but a clone of her mother. :(

Raleigh 5th January 2006 06:29 AM

Yeah I agree. Koda's trying to be too sexy lately and it isn't exactly coming as great.

natalaxie 5th January 2006 06:54 AM

i agree with u tomiko8, especially about koda kumi lol. i dunno about mika nakashima doing rock tho lol. but yea i wish hikki wouldnt be so... serious... its depressing... lol

[AHS]MortalSex 5th January 2006 11:09 AM

Nothing special I like them how they are now =) different characters especially between Ayu,Kumi and Namie =)

elepop 5th January 2006 03:59 PM

Like Annabelle, I think they should just stick to the way they are.

And as for Mika, I really hope she's gonna stop acting like a rocker...

CREA.tive 5th January 2006 04:12 PM

Like a lot of ppl said: Kumi's acting too sexy!

bulmasman 5th January 2006 04:15 PM

The problem is that a lot of koda's appeal is her very sexy image, not to say she wouldn't be popular without it, but i can't see her going demure any time soon.

I actually like her image though... it's a stark contrast to the rest of the jpop world which is what makes it so stand out. If koda was to become popular in the west i doubt she'd stand out so much.

I'd like to see Hitomi Shimatani a lot "stronger", which means looking and sounding like she has more confidence in herself.

as for Koda I really agree with what bulmasman said. She's sexy in an unidolish, "mature" way (mature in that she's not "lolita"sexy like maaaany (most?9 of the other idols are.)

Um, actually, in her recent magazine shoots, Mika looks like normal Mika. As for performances, she wears suits (not men ones, lol) and looks great.

The whole 'rocker' style was for Nana, that's all. I agree that it doesn't look great on her at all. Her hair color turned into a yucky color.. I like the brown or black she had. It's back to its original color now.

I agree with Koda Kumi. People can be sexy WITH lots of clothes on. Well, I guess celebrities give off that 'fantasy' image for people.. so yeah.

Yeah! What really drew me to SAYAKA in the first place was the cover of Jougen no Tsuki. She looks awesome on it!

I'm wondering though, would you happen to know more about her, and why there has been no sign of activity since the release of Doll?
*I think they even took down her official site* :no

devilayu 5th January 2006 09:01 PM

Koda Kumi's image was always sexy, I don't see why it's a problem and she doesn't always wear revealing clothing. Sometimes I think since she has a curvy body, clothes look "sexier" on her than they would on someone who doesn't have her figure. She looks great and is a welcome contrast in an industry that too often relies on manufactured innocence to promote artists.

I'm not fond of Mika's hair at the moment (looks like a weird, spiky mullet) but I'm siding with those who think that the artists don't need to change their image. Whatever each of them is doing, it's working.

chibi_sunny 5th January 2006 11:18 PM

i think shimatani should change her image....try a different style, and so should namie...
kumi should do more songs like "Birthday Eve"...really cute
Ayu should stay the way she is^^, and so should utada.
maaya sakamoto, as already mentioned, should try something more classy.
i also enjoyed when mika became nana. it suits her a lot.

Just saw some new pictures of her and she does look great. :yes

I'm so glad she left that "rocker" look.

Kikaru 6th January 2006 03:50 AM

I would really want Otsuka Ai to just get a little more mature. Since I'm not really fond of her "cutesy" songs, her "I'm a little girl" image is starting to annoy me, and LOVE COOK did not help otherwise.

I like Mika's current image.

Koda Kumi have a nice body to show off (*sigh* what I would do to get a body like that...) but I really would like her to have more of a "subtle" sexy look rather than her "in your face" sexy look.

Ayu...has no image...since she changes a lot, and should stay that way...

Hikki has a nice haircut...but she always looks a bit plain to me...

Gackt, for the love of *insert diety here*, no more cornrolls.

Keishi 6th January 2006 07:59 AM

Mika: back to her awesome CG style....I may the only one who dislike Glamorous Sky...
Koda: well, she's fit in...being sexy already her style (makes me think what will happen if she pass the audition for MoMuSu)
Ayu: umm....back to I am... era...rock don't fit with her voice
Utada: hmmm....I believe she doesn't have problem with her image
Namie: umm...can't judge...since i'm not a big fan of her...but she's not fit with ballad....(with exception of ALL FOR YOU)

Thank you for saying that. ^-^

As for me...

Kumi Koda - The sexy look doesn't really bother me, but it gets a little boring sometimes.

Namie Amuro - I loved her releases last year, but she should probably release another song like "Please Smile Again" or "Say the word." And I want more jeans and less of the short skirts. :P

Crystal Kay - More ballad singles, please. (Still <3s "Kiss" and "Motherland")

Nami Tamaki - For once, I'd really like to hear a good ballad. And to not cover a song for her next single.

Ai Otsuka - Should stay the same. Good balance of "cutesy" and mature songs. No more short hair like in the "NEKO ni Fuusen" video though, it was cute, but the long hair has become a sort of trademark (like Kaori Iida's, which she chopped off around mid last year).
