K-pop star BoA is on her way to record sales of 10 million in Japan a mere five years after she made her debut in the island country in May 2001. The singer is releasing her 18th single “Everlasting” on Wednesday, having already sold more than 9 million records -- three regular albums, one best album and 17 singles that took her to the top of the Oricon chart, Japan’s version of the Billboard chart.

Since her albums all made platinum sales and singles sold some 150,000-200,000 copies, BoA is well on track to exceed 10 million copies with the new single and the fourth regular album out next month. That will make BoA the youngest singer ever to sell 10 million records in such a short period both in Japan and at home.

BoA’s much-awaited new single, the ballad “Everlasting,” will go on sale simultaneously in both countries. To promote the album, she will appear on a series of music programs, including TBS’s “Countdown TV” on Wednesday, TV Asahi’s “Music Station” and NHK’s “Popjam” on Friday.

did u see her performance at m net awards that performance was over the top the best BoA has ever done look it up on youtube but yeah 10 million i am not surprised

I'm very happy for BoA.

Sorry for that but I don't think she'll reach 10 million only with her next album and her next single. Her next will have to sell more than L&H and Everlastin will have to sell more than Do the Motion.

personally, i think its an exageration. not all her singles have been betwen 150-200k. only 4 out of 17 have. her past 2 singles barely passed 50k.
