As of late I've gotten interested in Chieko Kawabe who is relatively a newcomer to the Japanese Pop world. Her vocals are really soothing, she can dance relatively well and her pvs are quite amusing too so I suggest you keep your eyes on this artist.

After eight months of hiatus, Kawabe is going to release her 5th single "Sakura Kiss" which shall be out in stores in April 26th, 2006.

She is best known for 'Be Your Girl', ending song of Elfen Lied, and 'Hoshi ni Negai Wo', ending song of Otogizoushi. Singing isn't her only talent, however, as she is starting to show a growing interest in acting. Arguably, her most notable roles have been of Sailor Moon relation. She made her debut in Winter 2001 as Sailor Mercury in the Sera Myu and continued in the role until she graduated in mid-2002. She appeared again in the Sailor Moon world as Tsukino Usagi's best friend, Osaka Naru in the 2003-2004 live action series, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon.

OMG! So she's the "friend" in "Sailor Moon Live Action"! Holy crap! I knew I've seen her before... So it was in "Sailor Moon"! XD *still shocked*

I have never heard any of her songs though.

If you want asongforXX I will upload some songs of hers :) her singing is really cute and her style reminds me a little of Ai's very first singles.

Also I was inspired to create this thread by j_nerd since I saw that set of her and was like "hey I wonder if there's a thread of hers" and when I didn't see one I decided to create one ^^

I know Chieko! I really enjoyed Sera Myu for a while because of her. I was really upset when she left, so I sort of stopped paying attention to Sera Myu. Then I heard her solo album and I wasn't really impressed... but I will always give her new material a chance!

I heard to one of her songs and I liked. She's really popular among teen girls in Japan right now, I guess because she's now the Seventeen mag main model.

Interesting. I guess yes it is indeed something which has pushed her in the spotlight but her songs are pretty addictive too!

I think it meant like lyrics by the songwriter who writes for Nami & BoA too , not by BoA & Nami themselves or lyrics off their songs.

anyways , I haven't heard anything by Chieko. that sample sounded pretty nice , reminded me a lot of Ai Otsuka.

Yeah, her voice is slightly like Otsuka's. But less nasally in my opinion!
