The Official Van Tomiko Thread

I thought this would be extremely appropriate for Van Tomiko to have her own thread considering the fact that she's going solo and DAI is splitting up, but hopefully they'll have some kind of reunion of some sort for the fans. Van Tomiko is a beautiful Japanese artist who doesn't get the attention she deserves so I think she should be in the spotlight, that my reason for this thread. So talk about whatever you want to say about her on here, and don't forget to update with news about pv's, music previews, performances, etc...

Has anyone seen her offcial site?

She looks really pretty in that picture. ^_^

When is she going to release her solo album?

~Matt~ 16th February 2006 03:11 AM

The new single of Tomiko will be released on March.

I personally love her, I think is one of the best japanese singers :)
Although i'm not into D·A·I so much :) I respect her so much as an artist

since it's more of a "mystery" album, and the fact that tomiko was a part of popular band DAI, the album should be on the top 5

I bet it'll be good! I think she should shake off the DAI image and try something totally new. I've heard all her solo songs so far and they are very non-DAIsh..

DerrickRocks 16th February 2006 08:46 AM

i hope she has that beautiful voice still i still want her to carry some kind of DAI sound to her it made her so different i wonder will Dai Naigo compose for her i mean its unlikly but i would like to see it done i hope she doesnt flop i am so scared u have no idea DAI should never had breaken up do u think they might get back together anyone?

jigglypuff 16th February 2006 09:53 AM

Looking forward to Tomiko's new material. Big DAI fan here. Anybody else think she's gonna do like a Sarah McLachlan style or something similar?

cleftjuston 16th February 2006 10:15 AM

i thought her voice was not bad, won't it be the american way to release an album without any singles?

~K+ 16th February 2006 10:36 AM

The girl gets plenty of attention.

I think they broke up at the appropriate time, DAI was running dry of ideas anyway. That said, the preview of her new song exceeded my expectations, hopefully she'll get herself some decent songwriters.

Perhaps she will work with Dai Nagao or with Ryo :)
