Translating Japanese songs

How would I go along with that? 'Cos I would like to get 2 songs translated.. and I do not know Japanese.. o_O;; Please help!

ImpactBreaker 26th February 2003 01:31 AM

Try cori's homepage. I never tried it but I believe they take requests for translations.

http://www.geocities.com/ojochan/eigo.html

They also have a forum especially for requests but I believe there have been no replies fopr a long time. The main page is still being update though. Maybe you could try e-mailing the webmasters???:shrug

They might also already have the translations you're looking for. Plus they have links for other translation pages.

nmskalmn 26th February 2003 02:06 AM

Brittany: I merged your topic with an earlier one. I believe some of the sites posted above also take requests

Here is another site with translations:
http://www.ece.cmu.edu/~panita/jpop/songlist.html

And don't forget Wataru's and masa's translations.

Yuki 26th February 2003 02:25 AM

Sorry about the trouble... I looked around on the sites listed for BoA's,"Beside You," and Namie Amuro's,"Wishing on the same star." No luck.. -_-;; But help is appreciated ^^

Biscuitgirl 26th February 2003 05:10 AM

Did any of you try Wataru's site? The link is at the top of this page.

Yuki 26th February 2003 05:54 AM

It does not look like Wataru's site is working at the moment.. or it may be my computer.. ??

angela 26th February 2003 09:35 AM

thanx for the links~ :D :D

Chireresu 27th February 2003 02:33 AM

Sankyuu for the links everyone!Brittany, Wataru's site worked for me...I think that it is your computer.

Yuki 27th February 2003 05:12 AM

Okay, I tried it today, and it works fine. Does he have an e-mail address? I looked around for his e-mail and it appears that he does not have any for translation requests. Does anyone know where any BoA Japanese lyrics in actual Japanese font online? Not romanji.

nmskalmn 27th February 2003 05:31 AM

Megchan once translated a song for me. Why not try her?

As ImpactBreaker mentioned, Cori takes requests too:

Connected With AYu + Perfect Ayu has ayu songs translated into chinese

Ryoko 29th May 2003 12:53 AM

Well translating Japanese isn't easy-verb conjugation, sentence patters, unknown vocabulary, polite usage, informal usage, slang, Japanese is a very hard language. I can only translate a few sentences-my vocabulary is not good. So you should email all those webmasters requesting for translations cause some of them won't reply asap.

imagina12y 29th May 2003 06:19 AM

ps its romaji and not romanji...

shinjite 30th May 2003 04:58 AM

i'm now translating YUKI's song "66db". It is going pretty well, i gusse. i don not speak fluent japanese, but i know enough about the sentance structre & i know basic vocabulary. plus, i have tons of japanese grammar & vocabulary books. once i get it done, i'll probally translate the rest of her songs. oh yeah, i'm transcribing them into romaji too.
