[Thoughts] BLUE BIRD PV

Can anyone say "fairyland?" I mean, jeez. Talk about a low-budget PV. Whoo dancing around and Ayumi spinning in circles on some sand. *yawns*

The colors seemed to be the only nice part about this. Otherwise it's pretty boring and uncreative.

Does anyone know where this was filmed? I don't know if it had been posted or not.

Anyway, post what you guys thought. Me? It was boring. But I didn't expect otherwise.

I think our dearest Ayu is having creative blocks.

For those who haven't seen it, check it out on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKlMLr4WHfE

I quite enjoyed the vid...yes it was a lil like fairyland but this one was just as nice...and it made me like the song ^^

I loved the beach scenes and she looked so happy..she really must have enjoyed filming it

Maiku 9th June 2006 10:32 PM

i think it was alot better than fairyland,,, overall i give it a 8/10

micster 9th June 2006 10:34 PM

Damn Sexy PV

SunshineSlayer 9th June 2006 10:52 PM

I have mixed feelings about this PV. It was nice seeing everyone happy and having a good time. However, like the song, the video is very reminiscent of fairyland. I would have liked to see more creativity and a storyline. The PV pretty much confirmed my fears that this was made quickly, down to the wire, and on the cheap.

And I'm actually wondering if some of the footage is left over stuff from the Hawaii trip last year?

I DO like how happy everyone is though.

The fairyland video at least had a lot of meaning to it though.

FuNsTyLe 9th June 2006 10:53 PM

Yeah! Sexy! I love it! Just singing, dancing and having a good time! Very colorfull, and very summer-ish! The song is OK, but the PV makes me like it:)

Simple PV, yeah, but that doesnt mean it's bad. But I hope Beautiful Fighters PV will have some deeper meaning:)

freedreamer 9th June 2006 10:56 PM

jsut forget about fairyland for once....

Which PV is happier - BLUE BIRD
Which PV is brighter and more fun - BLUE BIRD

Ayu seems to be enjoying what she is doing...shouldnt we like that too...?...It was a very enjoyable PV althou i could have more of the Hill scene...that Ayu look like the younger AYu...and Ayu is jsut so...FUN AND PRETTY in this PV...

what more can i ask?

Low budget? I don't think this video is low budget at all. Sure we're back to a tropical island but the song is pretty much a summer song so I didn't expect one of her "dark themed" promotional video or some cryptic video with a hidden meaning. Can't expect much from an upbeat happy summer song. I think the pv was well done for this kind of song.

Personally I liked it. It was fun and it certainly wasn't boring. Definately a step up from fairyland.

Why is everyone saying its like fairyland.. just because its a beach and theres ayu.. i did thought on fairyland but this one is way more different.. the colors were amazing.. ayu looks pretty and the pv made me smile, she was having a good time doing this pv.. but theres this little thing that cant get out of my mind... is something going on between ayu and shuya?.. cuz they seem.. like.. you know

overall its 9/10 i love this pv , its colorful and make me happy

EDIT: The boat didnt sink :( no one drowned :(

etheruraura 9th June 2006 10:59 PM

I enjoyed it. It doesn't remind me of fairyland at all. What else can people expect with an upbeat, summer song? Something like Free & Easy? I don't think it was rushed, I think she filmed it when she was in Dubai.

That's what I thought originally too when I saw her alone on the sand, but there was nothing about a HUGE entourage of people including all her dancers and film crew going with her to Dubai. Some of those shots look like Japan and some look like Hawaii.

Like the song, I don't hate the video. But when you compare the videos that have come out this year(Startin', Born to Be, Blue Bird) to those that came out by this time last year (fairyland, alterna, Step YOU, is this LOVE, My Names Women); then yes, there is a big gap in the production values of those shoots.

I like it. I think this PV is the best summer pv than ayu has made.

It's very funny.

For me:
1 BLUE BIRD
2 INSPIRE
3 fairyland

It think it was a higher budget PV, I'm sure they spend loads at least on the trip there... Not sure where it was shot (I'm almost sure it was NOT Dubai, Dubai is all deserts), but I guess they made a use of the fact they're going and had some holiday time as well... which overall makes the whole production not low budget at all.

This one was even more raw than Fairyland. Fairyland had drafts of storyline - burning house, the escape - while BLUE BIRD lacks any completly (well, ok, let's say that yacht trip was sorta storyline-ish). There was also no dance, except random swimsuit dance corner. Plus a completly random seafruits fest scene...

When I saw the first beach scenes, I thought it's Born to Be... PV "beach version".

Overall it's acceptable, but could have been wayyyyyyyyy better.

I'm starting to be worried about Beautiful Fighters PV:no

rizilmine 9th June 2006 11:08 PM

I wasn't reminded of fairyland. When I first saw it, it was just like, hey look, here's a home video of Ayumi and her friends on vacation, with Ayumi mouthing words to her latest song, woohoo.

But I still liked it. I guess the happy feel to it makes it good. It's just a very nice PV. Nothing complex or overdone. Although, I didn't really like the parts where they focused on each person dancing. I never like that for some reason. 7/10

etheruraura 9th June 2006 11:13 PM

well, either she broke the bank with the fairyland PV and is broke, or someone else at avex is using all the money =P

Dustie 9th June 2006 11:14 PM

lol, where is Guam?... 0.o

My Rainbow 9th June 2006 11:16 PM

I LOVE THE PV!!!!

I'm very happy because now Ayu is happy, and what we can see in the PV! Maybe doesn't have any hidden meaning but is very happy and i like it!

GREAT! AYU!
