Did Ayu's voice/singing style change?

I wonder if her voice or singing style changed. When I heard Born To Be... at the Arena Tour 06 I thought her voice sounded deeper/heavier and had a lot of vibrato sounding much heavier than her usual vibrato. At some points she gets really low with her tone and it sounds as if it suddenly is so difficult to sing what she's singing, while usually her voice is very light and controlled. It seemed a bit off in AT06. I wonder if anyone noticed this?

I compared Born To Be and Startin' lives to the Arena Tour and in the lives (frm March 2006) she seems to have a much lighter and controlled way of singing.

An example is in Startin' when she sings "totemo suki dakedo" before the "Dreamin', Startin'.." part begins. Her voice sounds really "weird" when she sings "dakedo" in AT06. Deep and strained or so. I can't really describe it. What do you think?

EDIT

In STEP you, she sings like she did before again. As in lighter voice and all. So was Ayu singing just outrageous/uncontrolled before? Cause I know that in "Startin'" she sounds like in Born To Be... again.

It might be because the editing they do for the DVDs, which does not happen for the TV lives. Also, she warms up her voice a lot more before an actual concert.

I can tell you it sounded very different being there versus watching the DVD.

STEP you in AT06 is one of the songs that's edited the most together with Ladies Night, the vocal tracks might even have been replaced with a new one.

There's probably all those small things amounting up to make it sound quite different.

It's also very possible that she just chose to try to go even lower for Born To Be... during AT06.

i personally heard that it was just a bit of worse vocals for that concert. maybe she'd been quite stressed at the time from live singing on TV, in studios etc and needed a rest. Might have simply been a bit of bad timing on the concert's part. It probably should've waited a bit til her throat was feeling more relaxed.

I feel like Secret is the first ayu album without streneous voice at all. I feel like she finally is in control at least compared to her singing on her former albums. (m) u included.

her voice is not change..
just improve, i suppose..
from a person who doesn't have the singing talent but then with practicing more and more, she can do good until today~

I agree, her voice did sound lower than usual in AT06. I think she's been singing too much and has a lot of stress. I hope she gets better!

yeah.. her voice deepened and sounded lower. it can get irritating sometimes :P but most of the time, she sounds sexy. especially for Bold & Delicious!! i like it a lot!! maybe she is straining her voice too much?? i duno..

Yeah, the "Yoku barini..." part when she's doing the chains are actually pre-recorded. I guess because the vocals require too much strain in the postion/action she's in.

IMHO her singing was excellent for AT 2006. She sounded more refined and smoother. She sounded like a mature Ayu :) I loved how she sounded!

I totally agree with the mature part ;) I love it when she doesn't try to force a higher note to mimic the cd-track. It sounds a bit different, but even better for me.:yes

Maybe it depends on the song and the tempo I found "Jewel" vocals really different from the "1LOVE" vocals

i love ayu's new lower voice
i don't really favour her squeaky high pitched voice in her older songs
but her voice has matured alot, and it's beautiful
:)
