momentum - Thoughts

Skipping JEWEL, or, well, listening to the ending of JEWEL to hear how it transfers into momentum, let's see, it's starting any second now...

Starting out with some synthetic sound, and Ayus voice almost immediatly, yeah, this is an Ayu song, I can hear it, haha. The first verse starting out calmly, with touch of a piano in the background, a very slow half shuffled beat joining it after a while.

It's building up... and then there's the shiroi yuki somethingsomething chorus. If the style of this song is to be compared to anything I'd say ANGEL'S SONG, I'm not saying the songs are similar, but it's the same pop-ish sugary style of song.

The song itself is better than the chorus, umm, that's a weird kind of comment that can only be dropped after having over listened the preview I suspect.

Can't wait for the PV for this song, it looks very beautiful. I like this song better now when I have a full version to listen to, I was slightly turned off by the preview.

Only 30 seconds left now. The drums sound like the drums of Replace, a bit.

At the end the song just completely dies away, into nothingness, I wasn't suspecting it to end that way, I don't know why or what I was actually suspecting.

The song is very catchy and nice! I also can't wait to see the PV. I really hope she performs this live!

This song is pure genius!
I love the arrangement of the music...and well, I just LOVE everything about this song!
This has got to be my favorite new track from "Secret"

I love, LOVE this song. Why is it not being called a ballad??? Sounds like one to me, similar to No Way To Say...

immel 26th November 2006 06:23 PM

It's too upbeat for me to be called a ballad, but everyone judges for themselves. Some think it resembles M while I'm more into it resembling ANGEL'S SONG.

It does have some ballad feel to it, too, though.

Axel_Grease 26th November 2006 06:27 PM

Mmm, it's ok. The end sounds like Replace. >.<

Reminds me of BLUE BIRD in the terms of its arrangement construction [jumpy chorus and calmer, yet fitting verses], and generaly earlier Ayu songs from LOVEppears era.

etheruraura 26th November 2006 06:44 PM

Sort of strange - Reminds me of Free & Easy in some places, M in others, BLUE BIRD in others, and yet - Replace in yet other places XD

I like it, but there are better tracks on the album.

Dustie 26th November 2006 06:51 PM

Think about it again, it sounds a lot like M...

makie_7 26th November 2006 07:24 PM

it's one of my favourites in this album! I love it!

Nu-NRG 26th November 2006 08:26 PM

I like the calmness turns into upbeat
in a way it's like Free&Easy/M/Replace
me likes!

Wow did ayu make this song for the rina aiuchi lovers? I swear this song has quite some simillarities with "kaze no nai umi de dakishimete". It's not a bad thing for me, it's actually awesome because I already love "kaze no nai" and now ayu singing something simillar makes me ultra happy. Specially since I was listening to rina aiuchi one of these days amnd I was very disappointed that she doesn't make songs like that anymore :(

And hell, what a catchy chorus this song has! I'm not sure if HAL arranged this but it screams HAL the entire song.

Kikaru 26th November 2006 10:22 PM

I resembles M in terms of how the song flows...starts of like a ballad, but then pick up its pace until after the first minute or so.

I do love its arrangements. The previews didn't give the full song justice. I think this is one of those songs you really have to listen to the whole thing to like.

Calico 27th November 2006 12:18 AM

I wasn't liking this song much until it hit the chorus. (Bear in mind I haven't heard the previews at all) The arrangement is very beautiful, and I can't wait to see the PV! It sounds very traditionalist...like Free & Easy/M/Will.

my goodness, I don't know what to say about this song! I just...love it... I can't say anything more! and the PV is looking verrrry promising.

truehappiness 27th November 2006 12:39 AM

Thank god it's coming out tomorrow! Or actually, we might have it by tonight! Since it's airing in Japan 11/27 in the early morning..

ruixiong89 27th November 2006 02:52 AM

(typing this as I'm listening to momentum on FIRST LISTEN)

It sounds like it's from RAINBOW. Reminds me instantly of M but with a bit of Replace. The verses are low sounding, but really sweet. Yeah, now its getting to the chorus. Love how it builds up! I think I reminds people of Replace due to the synch sounds.

Yeah, I'm loving this song. And yet again, another instrumental bridge. I want a "vocal" bridge. *cries* Still nice nonetheless. Mmm ... structure wise it's the same as the rest of her album songs I've heard so far.

It ends rather abruptly I think, but still, it's a good song. I still like it, but probably it needs time to grow on me.

Norrel 27th November 2006 04:02 AM

It' s really cool song, really does remind me of No Way To Say :)

hopeorpain 27th November 2006 04:44 AM

it's a nice song with beautiful music, but it didn't go up to my expectations when hearing the preview..
