How long has "A BEST 2" been in planning?
 

I was wondering, how long ago do you think Avex/Ayu decided on releasing A BEST 2? I mean, I think they decided so before the announcement of the mini-album - the reason they were choosing only to release a mini-album was perhaps because they were planning on releasing the next BEST album not long afterwards? What do you think?

For me the mini-album thing was a "Secret" joke, to make a Secret out of the new album. I don't believe all the bull that ayu and avex said about:

Since "Evolution"

I agree with ImpactBreaker and the same might be true with the supposed third song of BLUE BIRD. I do think the release of A BEST B/W has been planned out for quite a while though, and it might've been announced earlier if Secret had not been released.

A BEST 2 has been in their minds since the release of MY STORY probably, at that point they had I am..., RAINBOW, Memorial Address, and MY STORY to pick songs from. They just chose not to act on it until recently.

Since Ayu was but a mere tickle in her estranged Daddy's... uhhh... yeah. Back then. Way back.

Who knows. Probably she's been considering it this year after BLUE BIRD since there was a considerable gap where there was no news of hers released.

Most likely not, considering it's connected to this years CDL, and the CDL performance has been in planning for a long while (considering that first you have to come up with ideas, write them down, choreography, practicing, etc.).

I am pretty sure that avex has know since the release of the first A BEST that Ayumi isn't an artist that's going to die any time soon, so they most likely knew they'd be able to make at least one other best album.

But since when did they figure that now was the time to release it, and when did they figure out the black/white theme? I would say that it's probably been on the ideas board in a more serious position during the last year.

So... if I'd say anything I'd say since the end of 2005 or start of 2006.

I agree. I hated when she said "If I told the secret there wouldn't be one" or what not. I think the only secret is that she is full of it. If she cared more about her fans she would make more songs (b-sides and what not) but instead everything is a double a side. When she releases DVDs and stuff there is nothing new.

The best album was probably planned off and on but recently was probably brought back up. I don't best albums, they're fun if you have a few extra songs and what not and I like that she's splitting the two up. I dont know, it shows some effort on her part. The first best was intresting because she redid some songs.
